WORTH IT
Still so happy, I just had to add another update. The scar is looking even better than last time I posted, when i tell people about my surgery and try to show them the scar they can’t see it unless i lift my nose under fluorescent lighting.

2 years post revision!
Still so happy that I made the decision to get this surgery. It’s nice to actually like the way I look. And to top it off, my scar—that I didn’t even mind much to begin with—is gone. I’m in my late 30s now but people usually guess mid-20s. I definitely think the lip lift made the biggest difference but the fat transfer helped as well.

Beautiful results! Where did Dr. Rolfes harvest the fat from on your body? My daughter is interested in having fat transferred to her lips but she is thin and I am not sure where the doctor would harvest the fat from on her body. Thank you for sharing your story and your review of Dr. Rolfes.
The doctor would probably have a good idea of where to get the fat from. For me, they harvested it from my abdomen, which is already pretty lean. They don’t need a lot of fat though, so it was plenty for me
Was it done under full anesthesia?
Thank you so much for your reply :)
It looks amazing! Congrats!! Do you mind sharing the cost?
The lip lift was about 5k, and the fat transfer was an additional 5k
Your results look amazing! I have this procedure booked for July with Dr. Rolfes. I'm excited but quite nervous. What was your recovery like in terms of pain?
I know this is a year late but gonna respond anyway in case it helps someone else—It wasn’t a painful recovery (especially with ibuprofen and painkillers), but it was definitely a tad uncomfortable. My face was super tight for a few months and the incision was itchy and needed a lot of care to heal well. Still worth it!
Hi - Can you tell me if the revision was done in office under local anesthesia ?

Over a year later!
Over a year later and still loving my face. I had to stop getting laser treatments due to covid but I’ll be starting them up again soon. Either way the scar is still barely there and only noticeable if I scrunch my face up and literally try to show it, lol.
I’ve noticed that my nose looks a teeny bit different since the surgery. I only notice it in photos when I do side by side comparisons. I actually quite like it—my nose looks a little bit more streamlined and slightly more I upturned. I’m guessing it’s due to how my face was stitched back together. Either way it’s a small enough difference that I’ve literally only noticed it while going over pictures. I’ve posted some more before and afters from this past month :)

Thank you so much for the update! I don’t think your doctor removed a full 12mm the first time around. Getting the second surgery was a good decision. Your lips look beautiful! Question - how do the scars look on the sides of your nose? I noticed he extended the incision up the sides, which my doctor did as well. Just curious! Thanks again :)
The scars are pretty much invisible on the sides. My nose folds covers them so you can’t see which is nice!
So gorgeous! Would you also share pricing?
Do you feel as though you have residual tightness from the scar? Not the same as how it is in the beginning (which is extremely tight) but I had my lip lift done a year ago and I STILL feel the tightness of my scar under my nose. It doesn’t impede my speech, smiling or anything else but the fact is, I can still feel *some* tightness from my scar. Not sure if this is just me or if anyone else has experienced this as well
In the first few months it was very tight. I used the scar cream the doctor gave me and massaged it often. Eventually the tightness went away. It doesn’t feel tight at all now!
where did you go to for your lip fat transfer? ive been looking for a good doctor for that and your lips look great
Dr Rolfe in Minneapolis area :)
