How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Lip lift tightness is nerve damage

Unfortunately the tightness from lip to nose was diagnosed by a highly respected dermatologist as nerve damage. She said all LL cause nerve damage which sometimes does not heal. Also, can take a year, after that is unlikely to heal, so for now just wait. She said everyone who she lasers their LL scar has this. Everyone. Of course PS did not mention this prior to surgery. Has anyone had this at 6 months, but did heal by 12 months?

Lip Lift Extremely Risky Even in Expert Hands

6 months in I feel qualified to review. I am also writing the review I wish I had read before surgery. This operation has taken a HUGE physical and emotional toll and I dont recommend this uncommon proceedure (even if it seems common on RS) - for example, no celebrities would dare mess with this way overhyped risky proceedure. Do you even know anyone who did this and can actually give you the real story? I haven't posted images because this feedback isnt about what mine looks like. Please consider if YOU can live with a scar, weird looking closed mouth, and distorted nose (just SO much going on with this surgery). Still images don't tell the whole story . REALLY, YOUR FACE WONT LOOK BETTER IN REAL LIFE, at best just different. Might look ok in still images - and why with my so-called not bad outcome isn't posted as I don't want to encourage anyone). More than just a dissapointing aesthetic, there is something I wasn't prepared for: constantly feeling the scar when moving my mouth. It's extremely disconcerting and omnipresent even if not painful. I saw bad reviews for this proceedure but most mentioned getting a top surgeon was key, so I did that. But this has been the worst decision of my life (and I've made some). Nothing has prepared me for the level of regret and even shame I have from this. I am seeing a psychologist for the first time in my life as I can't get past my feeling of regret and obsessive thinking about it...Please all, see a apsychologist before (and therefore ideally instead of) the proceedure to understand and address your reasons for considering such a risky surgery - yes, all for a few mm of lips (not because our natural selves are in any way disfigured, even if we judge ourselves like that, no one else EVER would). There is more going on in our heads to think its fine to undergo risky surgery for few mm of lips. It's actually crazy when you think about it. Please let the psychologist help you get perspective. Please do this. I think if I saw someone who cared but questioned (instead of a plastic surgeon) I would be living my old carefree life where I wasn't thinking about my face EVERY minute of the day, and could focus in life, work, family etc. I miss the person I once was. I'm interested in others stories about the mental journey and recovery, if you want to back up this warning to others, and how you dealt with the scar sensation.
