Both times the implant failed and shifted

ORIGINAL POST

botched!

Avoid this surgeon at all costs! I have had lip implants done by him twice and both times the implant had failed and shifted. He gave me his word that he would fix it free of charge for the third time, but due to COVID I was not able to travel to him, so he's now using that as an excuse to brush me off and basically tell me I am sol. My guess is he does not want to fix it, so he’s trying to get me to go away. That's right, their reasoning for breaking their promise to do the third revision free of charge is simply because "Too much time has lapsed" even though it was during the time of COVID, but no, they still expected me to have come to them despite country travel restrictions (I am an out of town patient and cannot return as easily), let alone the lack of regard for the health risks involved during a pandemic. I am now left disfigured unless I pay full price again for the procedure with a marginal discount that hardly offsets any costs when you take into account of travel expenses, taking time off work, and the trauma of going through the procedure again for him to fix the problem. Not to mention, it makes absolutely no sense for me to pay again since his botched job is not my fault. The fact that it does not occur to them the out of pocket travel and accommodation expenses I have incurred in order to have him fix his first and second botches, along with the pain, emotional and mental toll he had put me through every single time he messes up, and now they have the nerve to ask me to pay for the procedure again or basically tell me 'you are no longer our problem'.

Their other option for me was to remove it at no cost, however, I already invested so much money towards this procedure along with the multiple trips and travel expenses, that I would rather he finish what he started than to just remove it and tell me to go away. Convenient for him, not so much for the patient he messed up on multiple times. I also understand that a clinic has expenses to pay, but that is not my problem. You messed up, it is your fault, simple as that. You don't make your patient pay for your mistake.

I also found it really sketchy that they always wanted to communicate everything over the phone and not over email. It seems they do not want any traces of their promises in written communication in case of any legal issues arise such as my situation right now.

As a patient, I honestly feel extremely betrayed because I thought I placed my trust in the hands of a board-certified surgeon, but that apparently meant nothing, as he turned out to be a fraud.

Please do yourself a favor and avoid this surgeon at all costs, this is definitely one of those situations where the saying "You get what you pay for" applies. Do not come here because he's more affordable or because his patient photos look "Good". What you are not seeing is the malpractice that occurs when something goes wrong. They also have a tendency to ignore your emails, so when something goes wrong, expect to send multiple emails before getting a response.
