I've wanted my lips done since I was a teenager. I tried juvederm once but it only lasted about a month...Such a waste of money in my opinion...My mother and sisters all have beautiful plump lips while I was left with the thin ones. We also all carry grandma's long chin so I feel like plumping my lips will help even out my side profile. I haven't chose if I want 4mm or 5mm yet. I picked a doctor about 13 hours away so I think we will make that decision when he sees me in person before the procedure. It's booked for this Friday, March 9th, 2018. I feel like I am a good candidate for permalip because I love the shape of my lips...I'm just looking for a lot more volume.

I got really nervous and decided to go with the 4mm top and bottom. I have a very small mouth so I wanted to avoid having 'sausage lips'. I asked for the doctors professional opinion and he explained to me that if they were too big I'd probably want to hide in my house all the time but at least if they were too small it's something I could deal with until I decided to go bigger. I decided to play it safe. The procedure actually wasn't as intense as I thought it would be. The dental block really sucked but it was tolerable. Everything after that was fast and easy. It helped that Dr Houser had a great personality. After everything was done and I looked in the mirror I thought "WHAT DID I DO?!"...but since I've read so many reviews on here I knew that feeling was normal and would soon pass. The color in my lips had drained and they felt super stiff. Anyway, an hour or two later the numbness started to wear off and the pain set in... I can't lie that s*!t was pretty intense. I iced it during the car ride home as well as took some 800mg ibuprofen which helped so much. I took a nap and woke up and the pain subsided A LOT. It's now been about 8 hours and I don't think I'll need anymore pain meds besides some ibuprofen. The color has come back to my lips and they have a lot nicer shape already. I can already tell that they may not be as big as my 'dream lips' but I'm perfectly okay with that so they can get used to the 4mm size and some day in the future I'll go up to a 5.

Day 2

This morning I woke up with a lot of swelling. It probably wouldn't have been as bad if I had slept with my head elevated. I iced them and took an 800mg ibuprofen and the swelling went back down within a few hours. I have a lot more mobility and I can speak a little more easily as well. I can eat fine but I have to take small pieces and carefully open my mouth just enough to get the food in. I'm trying not to smile too big or open too wide. I don't want the implants to migrate. So far I'm really loving the results, though. I can't really tell the implants are there besides the fact that my lips hurt. The implants themselves I can't feel. I'm very glad I chose the doctor that I did. I chose him based on another review on here and her results were some of the most natural I've seen so I'm thankful mine are also looking the same way!
