Terrible lip filler experience - my results were very uneven

Terrible Lip Filler Experience

$1,035
I went to Mayberry Plastic surgery for lip filler in June of 2022. It was my first time getting filler. If this procedure is new to you, I would like to provide advice before you go anywhere. 1) Ask about the injector about their level of experience. It’s your face - be nosy and be assertive. If they lack experience, training, skill, or confidence, go elsewhere. 2) Do not let them start with 1.0 syringe of filler in your lips if you are new. Be conservative at first because you can add more later. 3) If you are seeing noticeable lumps, granules, and blue blebs in your lips after 2 weeks, get help. You don’t have to live with poor results. 4) If your lips are hard or if the filler feels like pebbles inside your lips after 2 weeks, get help. My experience with Mayberry Plastic Surgery happened as follows.

I told the nurse/injector I wanted conservative natural results and that I was new to filler. I believe she had limited experience based on my results. I did not ask her about her experience or training (I learned my lesson on that). The nurse/injector suggested we start with 1.0 syringe of Juvederm in my lips , and I didn’t know any better. It was too much. My results were also very uneven, which I initially thought was just swelling. Because I was so shocked at the look, the nurse/injector tried to reassure me and told me to wait 2 weeks and that I would love the results.

I did not love my results. I kept waiting for my lips to look better but they never did. After 2 weeks of stiff and asymmetrical lips with hard blue lumps of filler, I called Mayberry Plastic Surgery to schedule a consultation for help. The woman on the phone told me I would have to see the same injector for the consultation. I was too afraid to go back—I didn’t trust the injector to fix the problem. I found another clinic in ABQ to help me on my 20th day post-filler. This new clinic confirmed the filler needed to come out ASAP—there was too much of it and it was placing too much pressure on my lip tissues. I had the product dissolved without any problems and my lips feel and look much better (thank God). That’s the upside to a product that can be reversed. The pictures below are at 2 weeks and 20 days post-filler. The results in the pictures looked even worse in person. If you choose Mayberry Plastic Surgery for filler, make sure the person helping you has ample experience. I hope this review helps you make a good choice and helps you have a good experience in Albuquerque with your appearance.
