So my lip journey continues.. Background: I'm a 25 year old girl with non-existent lips. I've had fillers done twice. Didn't do so much for me due to my lip shape which is curves in naturally.
Last year I had a lip lift procedure which I was very happy with, but this procedure will just shorten the space between your nose and upper lip, not actually change the size of your lips.
So my insecurity continued.
Last week I started researching lip tattoos and actually got an appointment for tomorrow! I have been thinking about a lip tattoo for a long time cause I've got some white scarring on my bottom lip (not from a procedure, just from falling on a bike haha). I'm not expecting the scarring to be completely covered but I think this would help. Also my upper lip is very pale which makes it look even thinner than it is.
I have attached some before pictures. You can see that my upper lip almost completely disappears when tilting my head down. I'm so excited for tomorrow! Feeling a bit insecure to go though since all the pictures they post on social media are of girls with big, nicely shaped lips already. Mine don’t look like that...

Day of the procedure

The appointment started with a consultation where I picked the colour. I went for a more coral pink shade. They said all the colours will fade to natural looking. Then I sat with the numbing cream for 20 minutes. I tried not to talk because I didn't want it in my mouth but another worker there kept making small talk haha. So in the end my tongue and throat were numb too :)
After the numbing cream was off they did the shape with lip liner and I got to check in the mirror that I was happy with it. Then the tattooing began. They first did the outline and then shading in 5 rounds. Only the first round hurt. I think at this point a lot of the numbing had worn off because the drawing of the shape took a while. But before each new round they would put some numbing liquid on and none of them hurt. Some I barely felt at all. The whole procedure lasted 2.5 hours.
I got to check with a mirror halfway through and the colour looked bright coral pink. But in the end it looked red. I was happy how it turned out but at the same time, I'm not used to wearing bright lipstick so I looked a bit shocking. I felt like a straight up circus clown. Thankfully its normal to wear a mask in public these days. Otherwise I would've been very self conscious to go in public. Also the lips were very swollen at the start but started going down after a couple of hours. They have not been very painful, just slightly sore. And they feel tight and dry. No flaking yet.

How are your lips now? Color? Any other side effects?

Hi, I notice that there are so few reviews on lip blushing / lip tattoo here. So I'll try to tell you about my experience in detail. Hope it helps someone.
I'm majorly insecure about how my lips look right now. They are still quite bright and over the top. I would never do makeup like this on myself cause it just doesn't look good on my lip shape. I really hope they fade soon.
As for aftercare I was told to use disinfectant wipes often and apply no creams. There was still a lot of colour coming out on the wipe today but not so much anymore. My lips are not sore just feel very dry. They haven't started peeling yet but they are very wrinkly when pouting my lips. Almost all of the swelling has gone away
I feel fairly comfortable and can eat and drink as normally. I wear a mask in public, one that sits loosely so it doesn't touch my lips.
Today I have had a bit of regret and thinking 'what if they stay like this and never fade at all'. This is a scary thought. Still feeling a bit like a circus clown. Tomorrow I should be moving into a new accommodation. If I'm still very insecure by the morning I think I will book another night at a hotel and not go yet. Can't face meeting new people looking like this.
