$3,600
I had a chin implant and upper lip implant. I chose this doctor because he had pretty good work from the photos I seen and that the price was a lot more affordable than others. Upon meeting the doctor, he didn’t seem very personable but I was more concerned with good results at a reasonable price.
I told people at work I was having surgery done. When I came back, every single person asked me what I had done because I look exactly the same! Friends as well. No one could even tell a difference. I feel like I threw away $3,600 and missed work without pay and endured pain for nothing.
I thought I needed a chin implant after research because I have dimpling in my chin which is unfavorable. And the upper lip was partially because I have a gummy smile and wanted to hide it as well as make it symmetrical to the bottom lip. When I went for a follow up I told the nurse I wasn’t happy with it and I don’t see a difference. She said ok, the doctor will be right in. As soon as he walked in, he was very defensive and told me he wasn’t going to refund my money (not that I asked) and that he did what he could. He told me that there is “no way to predict the outcome”. Yet he’s been doing this almost 40 years. Ok doc.
He did not offer me any solution and I walked out. Later, his office manager called and told me he would like to switch out the permalip implant for the largest size and I would just pay a small amount. And that they would offer me complimentary Botox in my chin to eliminate the dimples. I made the Botox appt and at the appt I told him I wanted to switch out the implant and he seemed like he changed his mind and was making me nervous talking about scar tissue, etc. I decided I don’t want him doing this if he’s unconfident with his abilities. Let me also add which is very important: during the consultation he told me he would put in the largest size (5MM) but when she called me with the offer, she said in the notes it said he inserted the size below (4MM). The 4MM and 5MM look significantly different in size by the way.
