want to get your dreams crushed? best dr for you

I had done my research for v-line surgery and read quite good reviews about Dr JK Lee's work. We communicated during several months and then decided on a surgery date. I flew all the way from Sweden to Seoul by myself. When I had the first consultations I got the impression that he was always in a rush and didn't want to give me the time and information that I, in my vulnerable state during the most important surgery of my life, required. He always had a patronising tone when answering my questions. I should've left while I could, but stupidly I hoped that this would not effect his quality as a surgeon.
We went through with the surgery and I had a horrible recovery and Dr Lee responded to my distress with not even a slight attempt of empathy or a will to help. A couple of months later I noticed a crookedness on the right side of my jaw after the swelling somewhat had passed. I desperately convinced myself that it was just some left-over swelling. Now more than one year post-surgery I've realised that it wasn't just swelling. There's not much wrong with my left side, but on my right side there's a big bulky piece of bone that's weirdly puzzled on top of the jaw. I can't even begin to express the defeat I felt after this cruel reality hit me.
I doesn't look or feel right. The extreme asymmetry and crookedness is very visible, especially in photos taken straight forward. I'm trying to grasp how someone can feel that amount of indifference towards people to do a thing like this. I feel extremely downhearted that I saved up for this procedure and traveled across the world to a recommended surgeon to later receive a haphazardly done surgery in return.
I spoke to Lee last week and told him about my disappointment. My expectations of a professional doctor that shows accountability for his mistakes were, as you can guess, definitely not present talking to Lee. His answers were short and without any will to compensate me for all the damage he's done.
If you are someone who's thinking of doing the same surgery, PLEASE save yourself the suffering and pick someone who's professional and knows his craft.

so sorry for you babygirl :( we give these surgeons all our hard earned money. and give them our heart and trust too and sometimes they fail. And I don't know how I'd feel if this happened to me. some deep regret. I want V line surgery too and thought Korea is supposed to be the best place to get it done. But I'm still caught in such hard place trying to figure out what to do. Seems like no one offers it here in the US. Sending love and hugs. Xoxo

Hey there! Not OP, but there a lot of doctors who offer it in the US (Texas and Atlanta specifically). I lived in KR for a year and I've also been wanting v line surgery but the ghost doctor thing has definitely scared me out of it. There are so many shady things in kr with the medical field..I've also never had a professional experience at a regular hospital there so I'm not too sure about plastic surgery

oh gee! I can understand you… I’ve been in almost same situation. I got my first V-line and asked for a specific change and was promised a specific result, but ended up with asymmetrical mandible and barely noticeable v shaped face. obviously enough I didn’t want to get revision with the same surgeon. had to wait 8 months to fix my botched first surgery. hopefully, my second surgeon Dr. Oh from regen ps could fix everything. I’m so thankful to him. At first, I hesitated if I should re-do the surgery as my trust to Korean plastic surgeons was already broken, but I have no regrets that I did it with Dr. Oh! I’m not sure if you can fix it or not, but do search more carefully next time and visit several surgeons, so you can compare. Good luck!

Ah nice to hear! I def think it can be fixed, but it's just a lot of money and strain on the body to go trough with a 2nd surgery. Since I live in Europe I would like to get it fixed in a country that's closer so i don't have to cross the world to hopefully find a professional doctor. I feel the same I really can't trust these surgeons anymore, they seem to be completely indifferent towards peoples lives

Dr oh is suspended he’s got a lot of negative reviews recently for not listening to patients wishes and doing what was not planned right before procedure
