I have wanted a breast reduction for some time now but finally had the courage to schedule!! I suffer from anxiety and this upcoming surgery has me very anxious!! I am 5'9 175 and very active. I can't wait to be able to exercise comfortably, ride my horses comfortably, and not have constant neck and upper back pain!! Not to mention the cute bras and tops!!

Super anxious about my surgery tomorrow!! I'm not as anxious about the end result but of the anesthesia and recovery. I've never taken a pain med and really don't want too, and I have 4 very active children so I don't want to be down for too long. Do most people get sick after anesthesia and will I be to tired to sit a watch my kids playing ball or at their spring concerts? Thank you for any information or advice you can give!!

Congrats on your upcoming special day!!! I did feel nauseaus after the surgery, but they can give you meds thru your IV to counter this after effects. You will be very tired for a time since your body will be going through a lot of recovery. The first couple of days will be a lot of medications and sleeping so no, you will not be able to watch the kids. Around the end of the first week, you will start to feel like you can do things again (but be careful and DON'T over do it....you WILL pay for it afterwards). Be sure to take Senokot or something similar to get the bowels moving cause that too will help you feel better. The anesthesia and pain pills will constipate you. Your throat may be a little sore too for a few days but that too can be normal. Take good care of yourself and stay on top of your meds. Don't wait till you feel the pain --- take the pills as scheduled. Its too hard to play catch up with the pills once pain sets in. Good luck tomorrow....and welcome to the other side!!!

For about two weeks forget about doing dishes, laundry, etc. because yu will split your stitches and healing will take much longer.

Oh yes, I had gotten constipated from the pain meds which were great by the way, and I landed in the emergency Easter Sunday. Being constipated was worse then my BR so do take a laxative every other evening or so you won't be sorry. God bless and congrats.

So surgery went well, no nausea and virtually no pain afterwards. Just very tired. When I went in for my check the next morning he was concerned that my left nipple looked dark and badly bruised so he admitted me to the hospital that night for nipple checks and had them apply nitro paste to the nipple to dilate the vessels and promote blood flow. Had great sensation in it but was worried about the bruising. Wasn't happy I had to stay, but got to go home Friday. Haven't been taking anything for pain but I am still very tired and just not 100%. Is this normal? I go back for a check up tomorrow and hopefully get my drain tubes out. There is a small pink area on the bottom of my left nipple that looks like maybe a stitch came out or something, so I will address that with him tomorrow. Loving my smaller, perkier boobs and I haven't had a neck ache since the procedure-so pretty happy with that!! Just hoping the fatigue goes away soon

You sound like you are on the right track. Our body has been through a drastic operation and the exhaustion is normal. Go with it and allow yourself to take it easy. Don't over do it even though you might not feel any pain, it would be a big mistake to think that you can resume your normal activities. I too had a stich come out around my nipple which I posted pictures of. It has since healed very nicely so don't worry too much about that. Glad to hear you are doing so well!!
