Dissatisfied and Disappointed

I had a neck lift last year same time. It was the most painful experience ever. No anesthetiser only locals and a pain pill given before surgery. It hurt so bad and I could feel the blood running down my neck from the cuts. I almost passed out over the pain and began shaking, the recovery was worse. It’s the first time I think I’ve taken pain medication on the dot at the prescribed time due to the excruciating pain. I’ve never had surgery without anaesthesia- never again. Well here we are a year later and my neck has fallen and I have loose skin. I scheduled a a follow up and Dr. Malhotra saw the problem and admitted it needed to be corrected. I told her I can’t take another surgery it was just too traumatic. She suggested wearing a headband around my face neck so it wouldn’t sag further. I was almost in tears, was this for real? Then she asked me how bad did it bother me? Well a lot, I paid 7,000 for results that are supposedly to last 8-10 years. Dr. Malhotra then told me of a “new procedure” that she could perform for 5,000. Again, I’m shock! Less than a year and she wants to do a less invasive surgery to fix what was supposed to be corrected the first time. I told her I thought it was unfair to charge me again. Her reply was it couldn’t not have worked to a number of factors, genetics being one...well that’s not what your consultation sheet states that is posted in your office. Shame on you Dr. Malhotra for treating another person and a combat veteran like this, I don’t usually insult a person but ma’am you have no integrity. I wish you the best.

My eye surgery was the same with her. She gave me a mixture of prescriptions to fill and had me bring them to her office. She then combine them all...called it a cocktail and had me take them. She then did my procedure with just a nurse. They kept waking me up telling me I needed to breathe deeper. I just now realizing how dangerous this was. I wonder if it is even legal.

BTW I had similar results with my eyes and after following was told the same thing...genetics. lol like why did sh think we were having a procedure done. She wouldn’t fix her mistake on me either so don’t feel alone.

Thanks for the reply! I’m sorry this happened to you! I have talked to others an they were terrified that I was shaking and trembling during the procedure. I feel like I need to contact the board. I have talked to others that said they had their surgery in a surgical Center with IV and an anesthetiser with 3 professionals there. I got a botched job and they won’t even try to help or return calls. Scam!

Wow! This is scary just reading it. May I ask, when you say "neck lift," do you mean an open surgery, with an actual incision? Or something like Kybella, or laser resurfacing. The idea of having "pills" for anesthesia is quite unsettling. Were you on any type of heart rate monitor or pulse oximeter, do you know? And most importantly, I'm sorry you went through that. I think it's fortunate that she did not correct it for you, in that something more serious could have happened, or you could have had even worse results. I wish you the best in getting the results you want, in a safe manner.

I've so been through you experience, and I'am so sorry you've experience the worst thing....I know!! It's a lot of money for crappy results! My first face/neck lift done in office, failed after 2 months and the doctor refused to acknowledge it. He offered no revision or solutions. After a year, I went to another surgeon, paid out the butt again. But this time, I went to the hospital under general anesthesia, but unfortunately my neck failed a second time but this time my second doctor offered a free revision when I reach 7 months. So I just had my 3rd neck only surgery 8 weeks ago (in office) and although the face/jowls are pretty good, my neck still has neckbands and I'am not very happy about it! My doctor tried to inject them with a product like "botox" for free but it didn't work at all. So I don't know what to do from here. My appearance is much improved from before but I just worry that with not much time the neck will be back to what I started with.
So sorry again to hear about your results, good luck with a second doctor, be sure to ask if they revise for free if you are not happy. I found out that most doctor will but it's worth mentioning it from the get go! Good luck

"Your anatomy" and "your genetics" are always to blame when less talented and careful surgeons get bad results...it's a convenient scapegoat. Sounds like this doctor just didn't want to pay for an anesthesiologist...keeps her costs down.

Still

Have not gotten my records to the new doctor. So much scar tissue I can’t wear my hair up. I can’t believe they haven’t even tried to fix this error. Look partial refund would be acceptable at this point I just want to look normal!
