Okay, I have never posted to anything like this before, but I have been a stalker of this site for a while now and thought I would post. I am a 33 year old female with 2 wonderful children (11 and 7). After I had my children, I just kind of let myself go because of the way my tummy looked. However, in May 2012, I decided that I had had enough. I decided that the weight had to go. In the past year, I have lost almost 90 pounds. I am now 180 pounds and am 5'7". When I look at myself in the mirror, it is discouraging to see what having babies and gaining so much weight after has done to my body.
I have researched a lot and have decided on a full tummy tuck with lipo of my outer thighs. Although, I walk/jog between 4 and 6 miles everyday, I can't seem to get rid of the outer thighs. My PS will be Dr. Henry Vasconez in Lexington, KY. As I am 3 days pre-op, I am super excited and yet, I am also really nervous. Although, I don't smoke much, I have been a smoker for 12 years. I am worried about necrosis and the healing process, though I am not smoking now and won't at least until well after the incision heals.
Anyway, the nerves are really getting to me, but I can't wait until the procedure is over. I will post some before pics later when I get up the nerve to take them.

Hey there!!! I just had my TT with lipo of the flanks today in LEX!!! I'm at Good Sam right now! We must stay in touch. Let me know if you have any questions since I'm a few days ahead of you. I used Dr. Schantz. :))

My surgery is also at Good Sam. I have heard that Schantz worked with Vasconez previous to his own practice. I don't know that for sure, just heard. Anyway, I have stalked this site for a while now, and am both excited and nervous!!! Any information that you can give will be greatly appreciated!!! It's awesome to talk with someone who had the surgery the same place I will be having mine!!!

Things have been good. Nursing staff is good but not the greatest I've ever encountered. But they are getting the job done! I'm pretty sore at this moment. But night is creeping in and it seems par for the course. I will tell you that the food here is awesome even if I can't eat much. I also put in a request for low salt/ low bulk diet to help with constipation and bloating. You might want to do the same when the hospital calls for your hospital preop call. :)))

Barring any complications, I am going home after my surgery. Dr. Vasconez wanted me to stay, but I didn't really want to spend the extra money. Both my sister and my mother-in-law are nurses, and I trust them to care for me if needed. I have the option to change my mind on Thursday, but I don't think I will as long as everything goes smoothly. Keep me posted on how you are feeling and things if you can, and I will do the same!!!

Good luck with your procedure. I am po day 14 and a smoker too. I have been petrified looking at my incision every chance I can. So far all is okay and my fingers are crossed that it stays that way. Please contact me if you have any questions along the way. This site has helped me recover emotionally through it all. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!
