My daughter is now 6 years old. When I was pregnant with her, I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and DIC causing me to gain over 100 lbs of fluid while on bed rest. After having a C section and dialysis, I peed off all of the fluid within 72 hours which caused me to have access skin all over my body. Prior to pregnancy, I weighed 150lbs. After having her and working really hard over the past 6 years, I've finally lost most of the weight, now weighing 160 lbs. No matter how much I work out, this pouch isn't going anywhere, so I decided to finally do something for me, which my husband is completely in support of. I just turned 30 in the fall of 2014, and this is my gift to myself. I had a consultation a few weeks ago, and my surgery is scheduled for March 18, 2015. I'm nervous, but excited at the same time. I cannot wait to wear a pencil skirt without having to try different body shapers to mask this horrible pouch.

She's in kindergarten but reading on a 1st grade level and is a math genius. There is no evidence of learning disability, even being 9 weeks early! In short, she doesn't look like what she's been through. Now, after 6 years of mental and emotional healing, I am doing something for myself.

I'm going to buy cough drops and another nightgown. In going to get some cheap pillows, too. I'm writing down all my pre-op appointment questions. In making hotel arrangements downtown so my husband as I have two full recovery days without our three kids.

How exciting to be less than a month out! I hear many ladies recommend building up your arm and leg strength prior to sx and having cough drops and stool softeners on hand after sx.
