For those who are considering dissolving filler...

For those who are considering dissolving filler please understand that you are playing Russian Roulette with your face. Many people have had success with these products but using them has ruined my life.
I was looking for some fullness in my face as I am in my early 50's and thin. I was walking a few miles a day and eating healthy so my face began to sink in with age. I have always had beautiful skin and was an attractive woman.
I was very foolish and went to a MedSpa that was highly recommended (doctor on staff) and he overfilled my face with Juvederm Voluma and I looked like Cat woman. I was mortified. I live with it for 2 months and I looked so distorted. I read all of the reviews on RealSelf and decided to try and have the filler removed....It took a ton of Vitras (I don't know how much) and I have spent almost a year and thousands of dollars to only make it worse. I am thinking of quitting my job as I work with the public, I don't want to be around my friends or family due to the sagging crepey skin on my cheeks and the distortion it has caused.. My face is falling and the crepeyness is so apparent now. I have two really large red half moons on the tops of my cheeks from the reaction to Vitrace and they are falling along with my skin. I have had fillers and fat injections as well as co2 laser which swells up the skin and deflates it and now I look even worse. I have been to plastic surgeons, oculplastic surgeons and everyone in between. This truly has been the biggest nightmare of my life.
I am writing this to save someone else. You do not know what reaction your skin will have to Vitrase or any other filler removal. Be very careful with your face and skin, they are the only ones you have.
I am sending out an SOS to anyone who has been here and received help with this. I will travel anywhere if someone has had help restoring their skin.
So Sad....

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. I understand all too well the pain of an altered appearance, and have been living like a hermit after foolishly getting fillers for improving a minor flaw that I had become obsessed with fixing. I wish I had just left my sweet God given face alone. I look so artificial now, and the fillers which were done by a so-called "top injector" here have completely destroyed my face and I look like a botched victim of cosmetic maneuvering. If only I had not tried to chase perfection. I used to get compliments whenever I went out before. Now I just look like that strange girl who had work done no matter how much I try to look nice. I wish I could turn back time. But it's been a year now, yet I am so afraid of trying vitrase now lest I undergo further damage. It seems like there is just no end to this nightmare. I am just going to leave it to God now.
Thank you for the warning about vitrase. All these procedures are just such a gamble. I wish I had had the wisdom that I have now prior to getting anything injected in my face.
How are you doing now? The problem is, these fillers don't just dissolve like magic within a year. They dissolve VERY gradually, and some don't even dissolve completely on its own. Did you get your face back, and did you end up getting hyaluronidase?
Have you spoken to a plastic surgeon about surgery? I too have had fillers dissolved twice, and I will never look the same. Doctor decided to use vitrase with kenalog 10 to dissolve soft filler nodules now I have atrophy and tissue loss on my cheeks. I m horribly disfigured and I don’t think I will recover. I m looking to get surgery and possibly look a little better
I wish you well !
Sometimes it is hard for me to unterstand how such a little solution could damage your skin forever.. skin is so good in regeneration, sometimes even burn marks disappear.. and with this rapid turnover of HA in our skin i cannot really unterstand how some units of hyalase can eat up your tissue almost to the bone.. and then i look in the mirror and there i have the evidence.. doctors try to explain everything scientifically and ignore all the experiences that patients had to make.. I know that hyalase is often needed but doctors should at least be honest to zu their patients about what can happen...
How are you now? Did your skin recover?
