Hi I'm on wk 7 post op today, wondering if I'm still having swelling as I'm still not as slim as I was just after the op, ? Also I still have tenderness more in the upper abdomen Is this normal ?

Dr Vlok was a very reassuring dr, put me at ease as I was petrified of what I was about to have done, The staff at the clinic were great too.

23days post op

Just posting pictures of the extra compression garment I bought online to help with swelling, it really holds you in and feels comfortable.
I'm still a bit tender especially near my ribs , still swollen and wondering if it was all worth it but other ladies on here assure me that it's normal to be swollen and it will fluctuate for a while yet, so I'm trying to be positive and keep in mind my day after picture and hope I get that result in time X

What website and do you like it
Are happy with the size I'm still wearing cg from the dr office and then the binder pulled tight
Rotita.com I got a small, I was a size 10-12 before op.
I wear it over the top of my CG from clinic as I feel so much more comfier in it,
I'm not happy at moment with my size as I feel like I did before the op but I'm hoping it's just swelling , what's your size like now ?
Good idea. I did the same but with an abdominal board that goes underneath the CG
I didn't know about the boards or I probably would have too X
Mine came from an on line company called Macom I think
Thanks I might get one, still got weeks left to wear my CG
How long ago did you have yours done ?
15 September last year. It has definitely given me a taste for cosmetic surgery! !
I am 6.5 months post op and am seeing quite a bit of difference just in this past week, I was swollen quite a bit and it has gone down so slowly but now just starting to see the results that I was hoping for, keep you chin up, it can take a little while but it is all very worth it! Try to eat less salt and whole foods, lots of water and exercise. This has not been a quick fix for sure!
Thanks that's a little reassuring
I was wondering when and what exercises I can start to do, I'm now 25 days post op, I'm walking my dog but that's all I've done

It's definately not a quick fix

Well I'm hoping this is just swelling as I was really happy day after my op, but now I'm just as big as I was and feeling quite unhappy

I think it's swelling. At least let's hope because also day 20 and feeling the exact same way! I feel lumpy and big and swollen. I'm thinking mine might be due to Pms but not sure. I start thinking that gaining weight because not excercising. Sorry you're feeling upset it sucks I know. Just know in the same boat so maybe it's something everyone goes through as they aproach the 3 week mark.
So sorry for all the typos....
I think knowing your feeling the same that maybe it is, so fingers crossed that we both start to see better results as we go into wk 4 X
where did u make it? l hope is better now.)
I'm the same 3 weeks post op my stomach looks the same
Someone else had told me from week 4 it starts to get better as swelling will start to go down so I've got my fingers crossed X
There is an awful lot of fluctuations. Be patient, this is a long game.

Make sure you wear your CG as much as you can, over and above the time they tell you to wear it for, if you can.

I'm coming up 7 months post and don't regret a thing
I wear my CG and an extra wrap around garment too, although I didn't have any pain, I'm still quite tender to touch especially near my ribs, I worry a bit about putting weight on as I can't really excercise yet,
How long did they say to wear your garment ?
8 weeks 24/7 which I managed, then wore it night time only till 6 months. It really helps with swelling.

I was tender to touch for weeks, and numb/tingly in places for ages.

Please try not to flap. It's a very traumatic thing for your body to go through. Try also not to 'measure' yourself everyday, it's soul destroying.
I go to Cyprus in 2 weeks, I was hoping to just wear Spanx pants but I'm guessing it may not be a good idea ? I felt so rubbish yesterday that I ate lots of chocolate , sweets and crisps
Spanx are better than nothing but I did find they rolled over at the top quite a bit.

At your stage you need to be very careful of ridges too.

We all have piggy days! No big deal as long as it's not everyday. Was it Kate Moss that said 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels '. She is spot on
Thanks It get you a little discouraged
