Start of my Reduction Journey - 21yr Old and 32HH-32J

I'm so glad to find a community where people can talk to openly and share their experiences! I have had pendulous breasts from the moment I hit puberty - my very first bra was a 28DD at 13, and ever since they've just expanded like a small country. I have frequent back and shoulder pain and some days, I can physically feel the weight of them. The one thing I hate the most is the unwanted attention - if I had a pound for any time someone put a bet on with their friends about what size I am, or whether they're real or not, I would be able to pay for surgery 10 times over! As i live in the UK i tried for a number of years to see if I would be eligible for surgery on the NHS. It was fruitless - after jumping through endless hoops, losing 3 stone (42 pounds) and getting rejected 4 times, I finally realised going private would be the only viable option. It's a really scary thought to be changing my body so much. From never having an operation to being under for 2 hours and waking up with (hopefully) a big chunk missing! I am ideally wanting to go down to a C-D cup, but I know once I meet with a consultant, they will have a better idea of what size will look and feel suitable on me.

So, I had my first consultation with the MYA...

So, I had my first consultation with the MYA clinic in Leeds yesterday. I went with my partner which made it a little more comfortable, and my patient coordinator was absolutely lovely: she was very personable, tried to answer all my questions in as much detail as possible and was happy to show me some before and after pictures. I also thought it was nice that she spoke so much about how i felt now, rather than just focussing on the op and trying to get me booked in. She offered to organise a consultation with a surgeon (Dr. Andrea Giannitrapani) who specialises in breast surgery, and I plan to meet with him in late June.
I actually had a consultation with Transform some months ago, but I have made another consultation appointment so I can weigh up both companies. I would have to fund it via a finance option, and Transform is much cheaper (MYA's prices start at £7100, while Transform start at £5300 and very up to £5900). This is due to MYA having a coompulsary overnight stay, while overnight stay is optional at Transform. I am planning on having the op later this year, so would ideally like to have a large majority of the money saved, which is much more doable if I went with Transform. In addition, I would have to travel to Manchester with my partner for the OP anyway, and so it would be more ideal to travel home the same day rather than my partner having to pay for alternate accommodation for the night.

It's a lot to consider, but I am excited for my next consultation, and to meet with the surgeons and get a better idea of sizes. I would also welcome any comments recommending either MYA or Transform as I'm quite undecided right now!
