Natural Feels Fantastic, Bye Bye CC

I got a breast augmentation and abdominoplasty...

I got a breast augmentation and abdominoplasty when my youngest child was 6 months old. I had a significant diastasis recti, and I knew the second pregnancy was going to make it worse. I was already asked frequently if I was pregnant after having my first baby. I got breast implants with the intention of fluffing up my stretch marks, not to go huge. I never really allowed my body to recover before getting these surgeries. The implants I chose were 275 cc subglandular silicone. I was probably a C/D before implantation, and a 34 DDD after. Too big for my medium frame. I think I developed CC pretty quickly after, but didn't really recognize it until approximately 2 years in when one winter my right breast CC really started to hypertrophy. It started to feel hard, especially in cold weather. I knew that I was going to have to do something about it eventually, just not what or when. The testimonials on this site gave me the strength to remove and not replace my implants with a new set. I hope to help others make the same decision, if it is what is right for them. Being a little older and a little wiser, the idea of continuing to replace these implants like tires just seems unwise. My MD was amazing and never once tried to talk me into another set of implants. He completely supported the idea of removing the implants and capsules, and then watching my healing process. I really hope I don't need a lift, but only time will tell. That have only been out a few days, and I already feel amazing. I look like I lost 10 lbs. I think my body has been holding on to extra fat to accommodate the size of the implants. I can't wait to run, lift weights, and do yoga without them.

Just curious did U ever breastfeed? I want to get mines removed but currently breastfeeding. I know some moms got theirs removed but left the capsules in to have a faster recovery and within hours they can breastfeed. But I was hoping to opt for the healthier technique and remove the capsules too... how long did the doctor say your healing process might take? Hope you are feeling better and make a fast recovery! Thanks for posting ur story! I find it encouraging to read stories of women being so brave and doing what is good for their health

WillWay, I breastfed both of my children, but it as before I had implants. I feel like my recovery is about 6 weeks. That is at least how long that I am supposed to avoid running, weight lifting, and yoga. Breastfeeding would definitely change that. You should go in for a consult. The surgeons in my area don't charge for consults.

Could not be happier. They are swollen here. Slightly tender, but the pain meds make it more than bearable.
