Everything is pretty much healed now. It took a while but I got there eventually! I am very happy with the results and definitely would recommend it to anyone who wants it done. I pretty much have full sensation back in my head and scalp, it feels a tiny bit tight still but pretty much back to normal! I have been using minoxidil 5% to help the hair grow back at the front along the incision and I now have plenty of baby hairs growing through. I can dye/scrape back/do whatever I want with my hair now so it was deinitely worth the investment!

Great to see! Check mine out too. Only 3.5 months post op though. Did you take anything else to help with hair growth? X

Wow it looks amazing! It's healed perfectly :) I had mine done november 4yh and I have like you had a little bit of puckering along the hairline. I know it's suppose to go away with time. So my question for you is, how long did it take before it went away? :)
S
November 16, 2016
I think it took about 8 weeks before it went away, itll go down slowly then itll just fade away. It really annoyed me at the time but im glad its gone now! Just keep massaging your head and trying to increase the blood flow. It will take a while to heal but when it does im sure the results will be great! xx

Hi! Your after photos look amazing! I have a consultation with Christopher Inglefield next week - I can't wait to be able to scrape my hair back! My only concern is hair loss/thinning. I have quite thin hair as it is and I tend to lose a lot of hair whenever I shower. Have you experienced hair loss? Do you know if it is a long term effect?
S

I have thin hair too! I had a bit of hair loas around the front but it's all grown back. The hair loss is only temporary and mine was only minimal luckily. It's a big surgery though and the initial recovery (first few days) was tough so be prepared! The outcome is great though and I'm glad I had it done x

Thank you so much! That's made me feel a lot better. It's so good to hear that it's worth it, I can't wait! X

Did you lose hair close to the incision site? Around what week did you notice your hair growing back? I'm at 5 weeks post op. The left side of my head seems to be growing but the middle and right side hasn't. I'm starting rogaine this week. You look beautiful by the way.

Yeah I lost a bit of hair and was stressing at first but trust me it all grows back! It did take a few months though maybe 4 or 5 in some places. Just use minoxidil and make sure to massage your head and stuff. And thank you! X

Did your doctor recommend any scar cream?
S
December 16, 2016
No he didn't but I'm sure you can ask your surgeon! Mine are quite bad but you can't see them hidden in my hairline and they're fairly easy to cover x

Finally got the stitches removed! Felt so good getting them out. They said its healing nicely and i kept it clean. Its puckering a bit in places but this is due to fluid and will settle down eventually. Still being really careful, washing with baby shampoo and trying to massage the head regularly to stimulate the nerves. The top of my head is completely numb still which is a strange sensation but I am very pleased with how it looks. Bye bye massive forehead!

I've booked my procedure for July 5th. I've not been given a time but told it will be after 12pm, what time was yours at? Also, is my mum allowed to stay in the hospital and wait for me during the procedure? Thanks
S

Mine was at 10am but someone else went and had the procedure before me in the morning. Yeah anyone can come and wait for you during the surgery xx

Ah wonderful, thank you! Did you leave with bandages on and if so, who removed them? I'm going to take arnica and vitamin c tablets prior to surgery, would you recommend this?
S
May 3, 2016
They take all the bandages off before you leave and they give you a vitamin c formula to put on your hair 2 weeks before the operation and arnica while you are in the hospital so you don't need to get anything! Only take what they recommend too or they will tell you off! lol Are you doing it through LBPS?
U
May 3, 2016
Lol ok, I'll do everything by the book. Yes, dr Inglefield. Have got the vitamin c already. Someone on here said that they got told off for using regain, but that was advised by dr Inglefield .

Oh really? I was told to use minoxidil 4% to help my hair grow back. That and baby shampoo for the first 2 weeks. Just see what he says i suppose, he's the expert!

Feeling a lot better than day 1. Nausea has subsided and i am gradually starting to eat normally again. Pain has gone down a lot (id say its a 3/10 at the moment) washing my hair and having a shower has made me feel a million times better! Starting to slowly feel human again

Hi, it looks amazing, bear with the recovery, the pills really help, you may feel a little worse 2 days after you finish the swelling and antibiotics, don't worry it's not pain it's like flu in the head, Woolley feeling but it passes, don't push yourself to quickly, you may feel ok but it's a massive head surgery and your body needs to recover. It took me almost 3 weeks to feel strong enough to work, depending on your job. Little things like talking on the phone wiped me out (silly!) the sensation on your head is so strange, I described it as a plaster cast thick soooo weird, mines still like it lol but you get used to it, the sensation will come back but can take upto 2 years.....great!!! But I wouldn't change a thing. :-) well done for taking the plunge, your new life begins here, you'll love going out not having to fix your fringed or looking at the pavement when the wind blows lol [RS bleep]

Yes! Thats exactly what i was thinking, my scalp feels sooo weird, like a wig or someone elses head?? How did you feel after your stitches came out? Did it look a lot better after they were removed? Thanks for your advice, i'm gonna make sure to keep rested up. How long ago did you have your surgery? I really hope i'm happy with my results xx

lol it is like a wig, a bloody thick one lol when the stiches came out it looked amazing, it was red for a day but the scar in some places was invisible, honestly it looked soooo much better than I had expected. Funny thing was I went into surgery with a fringe and few days later I realised it was touching my nose lol, my fringe is now almost to my jaw , I can put it behind my ears, put it up and not worry, it's amazing, no bad hair days, you'll love it. I had mine done on 7 january with Chris, you will love it, it looks amazing on your photos :-) xx
S
April 22, 2016
Yeah I've cut a side fringe to try and hide the stitches at the moment! Its getting solo itchy now but i guess that means its healing? Still haven't fully gotten my appetite back yet, cant wait til i can eat properly again! Yeah its weird it looks a lot thicker already! Are you getting sensation in your scalp back? Mine feels so weird still. Yours honestly looks amazing healed, it really suits your face xx

S
April 24, 2016
Yes I think so, on the right hand side but this seems to be getting a bit better day by day - im hoping when the stitches come out it'll look a bit smoother! I have seen this on quite a few people post op though so its not worried me too much yet xx
