Latisse Changed my Eye Shape for Worse
Alice999999February 22, 2021
I was using Latisse on my eyelashes for about a year, and I've experienced a significant amount of orbital fat loss. I used to have almond eyes and now they are more round and older looking. My eyelashes are also more fragile, thinner, and shorter than they were pre Latisse state. It's so depressing. It's been about 3 years since I've stopped and my eyes have not returned to normal shape at all. I'm really angry that this product is not banned since a lot of people have complained about this side effect! I don't think my eyes will return back to their original state on their own anymore. Im thinking about getting fillers, but im worried they will have unwanted side effects as well. I wish I haven't used this product at all! Please stay away from Latisse it can change your looks for the worse.

Still no improvement

Im still waiting and hoping that somehow my eyes will go back to their original state. Im devastated that this side effect seems to be completely permanent and that I ruined my looks with this product forever. Is there a chance that after 3 years it could still improve by itself? I just dont know what to do anymore.

Wow thank you for posting - I had no idea about this risk! I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know it's $$$, but have you looked into a fat transfer procedure? A good oculofacial plastic surgeon can do miracles restoring lost facial fat for anti-aging, so I'd think they could help you as well. Good luck, and keep us updated!

hey i wouldn't worry about this, I don't think it'd be possible for any topical solution to change your literal eye shape. the eye shape is determined by the eye opening and eyebrows and surrounding bones. for it to change that shape, it'd have to somehow alter your eye opening that is established during development. it's not something that can be changed, especially through a mere topical liquid. :)
the shape does look different in these photos, but this is normal... no two photos will look the same. there is too many variable factors that effect the outcome of a photograph. i would rely more on the mirror. hope this helps your worries

It does change it. Eye shape is also determined by fat surrounding it and bimatoprost is causing these fat cells to shrink.

Just read this article and see for yourself. The difference is significant. And I can tell the difference it made on my looks especially when I look in the mirror. I dont look like myself anymore. This product destroyed the only thing about my face that I liked.

I too am having this side effect. I used Revitalash for 3 years and just could not put my finger on why I looked different until a surgeon took a look at my face and told me there is no fat. I am Asian and used to look very young. Now I've prematurely aged myself and am very sad. These companies should be held liable.

Hi! I’m also Asian and have noticed a difference in my eyes also…. The fat loss just happened recently…. Did you try to stop using the product? Did the fats grow back?

Hi - it'll be hard to tell as I underwent upper bleph surgery and had fillers added. I am not optimistic that fat atrophy is reversible based on what I have read anecdotally and from what surgeons have said.

And yes - I stopped using the product. Tossed it out immediately. Google Dr Kenneth Steinsapir and Latisse and see what he says.. my own oculoplastic surgeon said that he doesn't like lash serums

I am now convinced that change is 100 % permanent. Its awful. My eyes were the only thing I really liked about myself, and now I have to save up a lot of money to fix them. I hate how I look now, and it makes me angry that this serum caused that much damage. I dont look like myself and I am depressed because of that, I feel old and ugly. Please stay away from this sh**** product, it does more harm than good in the long run. It has completely destroyed my looks.
