Latisse Changed my Eye Shape for Worse

ORIGINAL POST

Latisse Changed my Eye Shape for Worse

Alice999999
I was using Latisse on my eyelashes for about a year, and I've experienced a significant amount of orbital fat loss. I used to have almond eyes and now they are more round and older looking. My eyelashes are also more fragile, thinner, and shorter than they were pre Latisse state. It's so depressing. It's been about 3 years since I've stopped and my eyes have not returned to normal shape at all. I'm really angry that this product is not banned since a lot of people have complained about this side effect! I don't think my eyes will return back to their original state on their own anymore. Im thinking about getting fillers, but im worried they will have unwanted side effects as well. I wish I haven't used this product at all! Please stay away from Latisse it can change your looks for the worse.

please don't get fillers. Maybe you could try Profhilo or prp? Your eyes are really pretty before and after

Thank you. I will check if these procedures would help with orbital fat loss. Im still considering fillers, why do you think it would not be a good idea to get them?

Sorry I didn't see your reply to my filler comment. Check out Victorian Cosmetic Institute on Instagram and what he has to say about filler around the eyes, he talks not only about it's poor performance in the tear trough, the permanence of it but also about the orbital problems people have had with it years later in which there a very few specialists ready to deal with those problems. I had tear trough filler with a well known doctor and the results looks good at first and then just worse from there. I ended up having filler dissolved yesterday, everyone thinks I look better for it. I will be starting Profhilo next month and can let you know how it goes. Hope it helps you decide.

Bimatroprost wasn't created for cosmetic purposes. It was created as a treatment for glaucoma and has been used by countless glaucoma patients for years without reports of orbital fat loss. It was only after many glaucoma patients started reporting that their eyelashes were thicker and fuller that the makers of Latisse sought FDA approval for cosmetic purposes.

Actually if you do your research you can find tons of evidence that bimatoprost does in fact, cause enophtalmos. Google „bimatoprost fat atrophy” - there are countless articles about people who used this medication and experienced this side effect. This is not uncommon. Stop spreading misinformation. It deformed my looks and impacted my mental health, even on this site many users complained about this side effect. This is serious and people should be fully aware of this

Alice, I found your post on here and wanted to reach out. I am experiencing the same exact thing. My eyes have been my only favorite attribute And now I have deformed them. I am so depressed and I don’t want to see anybody. They hurt too because it’s so thin… I’m looking for a ray of hope and I wish that I saw your post before. My dermatologist didn’t tell me about any of these side effects. How are you feeling?? Has anything helped you? How are your eyes? I really hope to hear from you and I am wishing you the best. My heart hurts for you and I know this pain.

Still no improvement

Alice999999
Im still waiting and hoping that somehow my eyes will go back to their original state. Im devastated that this side effect seems to be completely permanent and that I ruined my looks with this product forever. Is there a chance that after 3 years it could still improve by itself? I just dont know what to do anymore.

Wow thank you for posting - I had no idea about this risk! I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know it's $$$, but have you looked into a fat transfer procedure? A good oculofacial plastic surgeon can do miracles restoring lost facial fat for anti-aging, so I'd think they could help you as well. Good luck, and keep us updated!

hey i wouldn't worry about this, I don't think it'd be possible for any topical solution to change your literal eye shape. the eye shape is determined by the eye opening and eyebrows and surrounding bones. for it to change that shape, it'd have to somehow alter your eye opening that is established during development. it's not something that can be changed, especially through a mere topical liquid. :)
the shape does look different in these photos, but this is normal... no two photos will look the same. there is too many variable factors that effect the outcome of a photograph. i would rely more on the mirror. hope this helps your worries

It does change it. Eye shape is also determined by fat surrounding it and bimatoprost is causing these fat cells to shrink.

Just read this article and see for yourself. The difference is significant. And I can tell the difference it made on my looks especially when I look in the mirror. I dont look like myself anymore. This product destroyed the only thing about my face that I liked.

I too am having this side effect. I used Revitalash for 3 years and just could not put my finger on why I looked different until a surgeon took a look at my face and told me there is no fat. I am Asian and used to look very young. Now I've prematurely aged myself and am very sad. These companies should be held liable.

Hi! I’m also Asian and have noticed a difference in my eyes also…. The fat loss just happened recently…. Did you try to stop using the product? Did the fats grow back?
March 9, 2022
Hi - it'll be hard to tell as I underwent upper bleph surgery and had fillers added. I am not optimistic that fat atrophy is reversible based on what I have read anecdotally and from what surgeons have said.
March 9, 2022
And yes - I stopped using the product. Tossed it out immediately. Google Dr Kenneth Steinsapir and Latisse and see what he says.. my own oculoplastic surgeon said that he doesn't like lash serums

Update

Alice999999
I am now convinced that change is 100 % permanent. Its awful. My eyes were the only thing I really liked about myself, and now I have to save up a lot of money to fix them. I hate how I look now, and it makes me angry that this serum caused that much damage. I dont look like myself and I am depressed because of that, I feel old and ugly. Please stay away from this sh**** product, it does more harm than good in the long run. It has completely destroyed my looks.

The pictures are not clear quality so I don't see any change.
