When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was filled...
When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was filled with a lot of fear, fears of the unknown. So as I made a team of doctors to treatment me for the cancer I also had to find a plastic surgeon for the immediate reconstruction part. So I met Dr. Chao in September 2013, right from my first experience with him to perform my breast reconstruction I knew he was the doctor for me. His knowledge, compassion, experience, sense of humor and very easy to talk to, told me right away I would be in great hands. Whenever I saw him I was always very relaxed, and comfortable which in my opinion is extremely important. He was extremely attentive to my best interests and how to proceed with the reconstruction that would best suit me. He listened to my concerns and would take the time to walk me through the whole reconstruction process which was over 1 year. There were no "stupid questions" to him. He never rushed our appointments.
He has 2 amazing PA's Rebecca and Carly, 1 awesome nurse Maureen, and a wonderful receptionist Robin, working with him. I can't say enough about his awesome staff. They also showed compassion, very knowledgable and easy to talk too. If you showed any fear or nervousness they would sit down with you and talk until your fears were gone. If you needed a hug they were there or if you may have a question or concern about something they would bring you right into the office to be seen. If Dr Chao was in surgery and you are being seen by the PA or nurse for something he was always just a phone call away.
Being with Dr Chao and his staff for over 1 year now, I could write an essay on just how amazing they are. I can't say one bad or negative thing about his practice. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a plastic surgeon.
To me being able to have a great rapport with your Dr. and his staff means the world. Not many medical practices treat you with as much respect as an individual as this practice did and still does for me.
