Well Worth It
A couple of years ago I developed GPC and could no longer wear contact lenses. As a wearer of lenses most of my life, glasses was an unhappy necessity so I looked into LASIK. I spoke with a couple of clinics but eventually settled on Vista Eyes. They were great and recommended mono vision for my age (53) - however I chose normal blended vision with the understanding I would need glasses for reading.
The day of the surgery I was very fearful but the operation was quick and painless however my eyes stung dreadfully for a couple of hours. After reading other reviews I thought I’d be ok after a day or two but it really took me 3 weeks for the dry eye to settle and my poor brain to adjust to the new vision. If I’d known I would have taken a couple of weeks off work and avoided the computer. I think it was the 4 week mark that I started feeling much better and the eyes settled. 6 months later I still have slightly dry eye but only if I stare at a screen all day. I don’t need eye drops. My vision is fabulous and I can read quite well without glasses - so I’m glad I didn’t choose monovison. I was also quite lucky and only had a small halo for a few weeks which has since gone. So overall, the best thing ever
