Plexr Laser Redness

I had plexr laser done for acne scars on my face. It has been two weeks since I had the laser done and my face is still red and looks a little bit pigmented. I followed all of the guidelines post procedure and I apply sunscreen religiously and avoid sun exposure between 12-4pm. On the first week I was told to apply moisturizer only and on the second week when the scabs fell off I was told to apply retinol and hydroquinone to avoid hyperpigmentation. I am a type one diabetic and I know that plays a role in the healing process but I would like to know if this is normal and if there is anything I can do to speed up the process.

Please note that I have had CO2 and ablative fractional laser done before and I have never had redness like this before and the they both healed within a week. Thank you
