I suffered from acne since my teens however i noticed my scars started coming becoming noticable at the age of 20, I became pregnant at the age of 24 in January 2019 and during my pregnancy i suffered great cystic acne on my cheeks and chin. On my cheeks i had cyst the size of 1 to 2 thumbs and my chin was covered in cysts close together, from this i gained ice picks, rolling and boxed scars including pigmentation cause of this. Prior to my Icon laser 1year ahead i had done Nlite laser and loads of microneedling and dermapen and also diamond peels, however none of this helped. So I finally went for my consultantation for Icon laser resurfacing and i got told my scars will defianlty go by sessions. I also asked them if getting a tca would help me and then maybe do the laser after but i was told no, Laser was enough. So feeling like i finally would get my deep scars gone i bought the package of 6sessions.
After 3 sessions i did not notice any difference to my scars at all but my overall skin was smoother and complexion was a little bit better. My acne in general over the next few months did clear up but my thoughts on that is that my hormones had settled. However the scars were as deep as the original time and my pores even the really tiny ones were the same size. so i stopped at session 3. and will be a continuing my last 3 sessions after my scars are more superficial.
I do not recommend laser Icon esurfacing for acne scars, only for really superficial scars that are probably only the top layer of your skin. Since them i did some diamond peels and microneedling and dermapen and TCA cross and tca peel my scars are not as deep as originally and I do feel a little bit more confident.
I also think that laser resurfacing providers should be more informative about the process and that it is not that great for deep scars as acn and acne scarring is sooo exhausting mentally, physically and financially. And seeing no changes after really pricey treatments can be really really disheartening.

I'm sorry it didn't work for you. What do you think helped your non-scar skin the most? Just curious. Thanks.

My heart breaks for you after reading your post , and seeing your pics. you’re such a beautiful woman, living such a happy fun time in your life with a new baby, The life you should be having to stress out about is painful cystic acne that you know a scar in your face for life . It’s so unfair how some of us get acne and some don’t. I recently at the age of 39 had the worst hormonal acne after having an ovary removed. I’m not a vain person, I’d go out w ball cap/no makeup most days. At the peak of the worst breakouts, I started getting depression and not wanting to go out. Not only did I feel unattractive, but it hurt, you can never forget that it’s there because your face is in constantly pain. I don’t understand why insurance doesn’t cover procedures to get it fixed. Insurance covers so many things that are less severe than cystic acne. Sorry super long comment. Have a great day and enjoy that baby

Thank you so much for understanding! I wish more people understood and helped people like us more. It's really sad and a serious mental health problem we go through.
