Sono Bello Lipo + Tri Sculpt EX

When I got my boobs done in Dec 2016 I seriously considered doing the full Mommy Makeover, but decided the recovery wold be too much. I’m super happy with the boobs but still not loving my belly, and diet & exercise just aren’t cutting it. Plus, this year I turn 40 and I’m getting divorced. Time to finish off that new me.
I am going to my local Sono Bello an having my upper & lower abs, hips & waist done. They are also doing “Tri Sculpt EX” on my lower abdominal to remove excess skin. Total fee is $10,116 (way more than I was expecting). $3k of the fee is the Tri Sclpt.
Lots of people seem reluctant about SB, and I had 3 lipo consults booked, but it turns out the doc who did my boobs works at SB on the side (rather than investing in the equipment for his own office), and I was able to coordinate to have him.
Surgery is 6/13. I picked that date because my ex is taking the kids on a 10 day road trip so I’ll have time to recover.
I’ll post before pics and an update after my pre-op, which is in a month.

Pre Photos

I’m just under 4 weeks from my procedure so I thought I’d take some before photos.
In the consult, they told me to expect that this will reduce “pinchable fat” by 70%.
The things I’m most nervous about are bruising and the “lumpiness” that some people describe during healing. I scheduled the procedure while my kids are out of town, to make it easier to hide it from them. But I’m kind of worried about my dating life, lol!!
Also, the final hearing for my divorce is 2 dats after the surgery... I couldn’t control that and it turns out it’s not easy to change. Hope I’m not too sore and miserable for that.
The thing I most dislike about my belly fat is how much it protrudes when I look down. From the front it looks proportional, but looking down I look pregnant.
I’m also wondering how my belly tattoo will be affected!

Pre Op

Had my pre-op today and first meeting with the dr. He said he thinks I should not do the ex (skin excision), because I will not see enough results to justify the extra cost ($3k), scar, and recovery time. I really appreciated that, especially because I’ve been pretty concerned about that scar and recovery time.
He also said that after healing, and losing some additional weight, I might find myself still wanting a tummy tuck because some of my pooch is definitely muscle damage including a hernia at my belly button, so it’s not like lipo is going to give me a six pack.
I wonder if the tummy tuck would be partially paid by insurance because of the hernia? Maybe that would be something I could do as a travel surgery. I was looking at some of those recovery resort places.
The money that I overpaid is enough to do some work on my neck /chin instead of a refund, which I have been researching, but I don’t want to deal with bruises and swelling in my neck during summer. So I think I’ll take the money and maybe do that in the fall.
