This morning I had my surgery. My appointment was at 6:30. In was pretty calm through most of it but I did have moments of anxiety. The nurses and doctors that worked with me were all hospitable and friendly.
The pain during the surgery itself wasn’t too bad. I’d say about 70% present of the time when she inserted the cannulas it didn’t feel that bad at all, but the other 30% of all it was pretty painful. I’m not sure how to describe the pain, it was painful enough to make me tense up and wince and try to bare it. Not enough to cry or anything. It wasn’t a burning sensation like some people say.
Now that I’m home I’ve been walking for 10 minutes every hour. I’m not as sleepy as I thought I’d be, but I do get a little drowsy and I’ve been taking naps. I’ve been taking two pain medications as instructed, Cehalexin and Arnicare.
When I first got home I felt nothing really and rested in bed. The second time I got up to to walk I started to feel discomfort, but nothing too bad. The third time I felt painful discomfort. And the fourth and fifth time it became just painful. It’s always when I get up from my laying position in the bed I start to feel the pain, it’s painful to bend and sit down. It’s like I have to keep straight. Nice I walk for a while the pain tends to soothe down.
I know they say it gets the most painful around the 2-3 day, so I’m anticipating that. Right not the pain I feel isn’t as bad as the pain I feel isn’t as bad as the painful moments I felt during the actual surgery.
I’ll keep updating my experience and take pictures, so stay tuned

I made a stupid mistake
Giving420936November 23, 2023
So last night, when it was time for me to get up again for my walk, the pain had started to get really bad. It was then that I realized I hadn’t been taking my pain medicine. I had mixed up my Cefalexin prescription, which is an antibiotic, with a pain med. The prescription they gave me for pain management was oxycodone/acetaminophen. As soon as I took it last night it immediately started kicking in and I felt so much better. The pain dwindled down to just mild discomfort. Know I only feel some pain when I bend or touch a sensitive area.
So the takeaway is, when you’re dealing with multiple prescription make sure you properly understand what each one is for.

Before Photos

Below are photos I took just before heading to SonoBello for surgery. The photos in the pink bra are photos I took back in June.
A few years ago I became skinny fat, meaning even though I look thin everywhere else I started accumulating a lot of fat in my midsection, looking disproportional to the rest of my body. If I wear big, baggy, and loose tops no one would be the wiser and just think I’m thin everywhere. I’ve been weight lifting for almost two years, but I never got the results I wanted, so I decided to finally take the plunge.
