7 weeks post op

Hey just wanted to give an update on my lipo journey . I’m 7 weeks post op tomorrow to be exact, and majority of the swelling has gone down the massage lady told me that these are my final results because I didn’t listen to her as far as compression garments . Okay so I want to get into the garments the garment I got from sonobello after my surgery I thought was alright but she had been telling me those are Spanx and I needed to be more compressed and I needed to wear the Colombian fajas. I after I went for my one week follow up and my incisions were healed I began a double compressing 10 days post op and wearing my waist trainer on top of my garment (spanx) occasionally switching between that and my ab board after two weeks swelling went down and my waist trainer was big on me so I began improvising and slipping my ab board between the spanx and the waist trainer then I finally decided to take her advice and go buy a Colombian faja for $115 size M omg compression was so tight I had to take a pain killer moving forward at that point the massage lady adviced me my new faja was not the right one because it still wasn’t tight enough (mind u I couldn’t breathe in it ) and that I needed a aompression garment with the 3 hooks to allow room for growth so I ended up buying another for $115 with the multiple hooks from the same faja store in a Large it was too comfortable so I went back and got the medium still a little too comfy so I went back and exchanged again for small still think I could have squeezed in an extra small cause the whole point of compression is to be uncomfortable so moving forward I’m still not so sure about my results I know I definitely went down still haven’t weighed myself since I was one week post op I was still 150 pounds the same weight I was prior to surgery but I am practicing patience

I don’t totally agree with what your massage therapist told you. I wore a garment from Marena. I started out in a small and then went to stage two extra small after two weeks. I wore it for a total of 12 weeks, 24/7. My doctor said I only had to wear for six weeks! But since I am older I wanted to wear at the full 12 weeks. I think compression is important but I think it should not be totally uncomfortable. It’s really about just helping your skin re-drape and compressing any fluid pockets. Again, you will not see 80% of your results until at least three months. Then you should continue to see the results up to six months(and some doctors even say 12 months but I think that’s a little far-fetched). I think you look good!
I noticed when my compression garments are too tight it doesn’t compress evenly some parts are so tight that it looks uneven I don’t know if that makes sense but I do agree with u . I also started off with the marena is a size small and went to a xxs after one week follow up . Thanks for the advice it really helps a lot thank you .

Thanks for sharing the details of your recovery. I am hoping the best for your results

8 days post op

Still swollen. Also when I went for my 7 day follow up they checked my weight and still the same weight I was pre op so far not happy just trying to remain positive so I keep saying I’m swollen. I look the same way I looked before my surgery . I’m starting to think this whole thing wasn’t worth it put myself through all of this and still looking and feeling fat

I hope you're doing well! Let us all know about the results:))
Don’t worry. The swelling takes ages to go. 4 weeks in I was nearly double my original size. I was really worried. I am now over the moon and still have a way to go yet. I am 4 months out. It can take 6 to 12 months for full results so hang in there
Yea I’m realizing it takes time and patience.
What ??? That’s ridiculous. 12 months ummmm no
Wow you’re a nice person ! Just relaying what my surgeon and research have told me. Hey everyone is different . I’m still seeing changes so I’m very happy with that
Your tummy definitely looks flatter!!
There is definitely difference! It’s hard with lipo because they need to leave some fat behind so there are no irregular contours when it heals. I had lipo recently and my stomach is not flat. However, I think I had a separation of my muscles I was born with and I’ve also had two children. Also, if you have visceral fat underneath the muscle they cannot remove that. You are still very early on in the process, you will not see 80% of your results until at least 3 months so do not lose hope!
Thanks you I really appreciate you taking time to read my post and giving me some positive feed back.
