2nd Treatment
5/2/17 Just had my 2nd brazilian and lower legs treatment yesterday. The laser technician turned up the power for my brazilian by 2 joules and man did it HURT. I was jumping off the table. I told the technician that I barely felt any pain last time but this time was insanely painful. :( I just know it'll all be worth it in the end but I'm scared for the next 6 treatments lol. The power for my lower legs was kept the same and it wasn't painful at all except for my shins and near my ankles.
Before my 2nd treatment, I noticed that my lower legs would stay smooth for DAYS instead of feeling prickly by the end of the day after shaving. Also, my bikini area was pretty much hairless except for the hair on my labia. Shaving in preparation for my 2nd treatment took literally 1 minute, whereas before I'd be shaving for 10-15 minutes to get all of the hair. I'm excited to see how much smoother my skin will be after this treatment. I go back in 6 weeks, so I will update after June 12th.
Looking forward to keeping track of my progress and giving updates on here :).

3/28/17 It's been 8 days since my treatment. I have already noticed a major reduction in the hair on my lower legs and bikini area. The hair on my legs "grew" after the treatment and after 6 days, felt very stubbly and prickly. I shaved my legs 2 days ago and my lower legs are still very smooth. Before laser, they would have already been prickly 2 days after shaving. I have not shaved my bikini area yet, but the hair that is coming through is patchy and I've noticed some hairs falling out already. I exfoliated my bikini area with the European Wax Center "The Exfoliate" gel and I used a washcloth in the shower in gentle circular motions to help some of the hair come out. I'm extremely pleased with the results after just one treatment and can't wait to see how everything will turn out after I complete the next 7 treatments.
Laser Hair Removal Experience
This review will be specifically for my experience with the Cynosure Apogee Elite laser on my bikini/brazilian area and lower legs. I've previously had laser hair removal on my face & underarms about 10 times, and only twice on my bikini/brazilian area with great results using the Candela Gentlelase laser which is an Alexandrite laser. I moved to a new state recently and had to find a new laser hair removal clinic and decided to continue treatment for a brazilian and lower legs with Light Rx. Light Rx uses the Cynosure Apogee Elite which is similar to the Candela Gentlemax which has the Alexandrite and YAG lasers, which can treat all skin tones. I paid around $2,600 for an 8 treatment package for my brazilian with peri anal and lower legs. If after 8 treatments I find that I still have hair growth, I can receive 2 touch ups for free. After that, I have a lifetime guarantee of 90% off the per session price for touch ups. So for example, the per session price of a brazilian w/ peri anal is $400, so I would pay $40 for a touch up. While there is a bit of a sticker shock with the up front price of the package, the lifetime guarantee definitely sold me. I also like how the packages are for 8 treatments + 2 free touch ups. Most places have packages that only include 6 sessions and the majority of people need more sessions in order to really get rid of the hair. One thing to remember about LHR is that it's a permanent REDUCTION of the hair. My underarms have been treated about 10 times but I still get hair, although the hair is super super fine and I only get about 2-3 baby hairs that grow, lol. As long as your expectations are realistic and you receive treatment at a reputable clinic with top of the line lasers, you will be happy with your results.
3/20/17 I just had my brazilian and lower legs done with the Cynosure Apogee Elite. I shaved everything completely the morning of my appointment. I've had my brazilian done twice before with the Candela Gentlelase laser and had great results (all hair fell out, hair grew back thinner but then I moved and did not continue treatments for about a year. Hair grew back basically like I had never had laser at all). Holy HELL.. compared to the Cynosure, the Candela is wayyyy more painful. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and even my laser hair tech was pretty surprised by how well I was taking the treatment with the Candela laser but inside I was screaming every time the laser hit my skin. The Candela shoots cryogen about a half second before the laser goes off which does help somewhat with the discomfort but it still hurt like crazy. The Cynosure on the other hand, has a constant stream of very cold air which makes the treatment more comfortable than the Candela laser, in my opinion. I didn't need any numbing cream at all. I have never had my legs done before, so I can't compare the Candela laser on my legs, but compared to the brazilian, legs are a walk in the park. No pun intended.. lol. It felt like a hot needle was poking my skin around my ankles and the lower part of my shins, but besides that it was pretty painless. I am hoping I will see my hair shed out of the follicles like I did with the Candela laser. I will be updating my review every time I receive a treatment and will let you all know how well the laser is working on me.
