Pics of legs
These pics are a month after the first laser session and a month without shaving. You can see very little growth and multiple bald spots.
Laser diode hair permanent removal
I’ve been waxing once a month ever since I turned 18 years old and I finally grew tired of it so I decided on a more permanent solution. Since I’m Black African I have dark skin so I did some research trying to figure out the best options for me and I came across IPL and lasers. As you know when lasers first came out they weren’t a good option for people of colour cause it would cause skin burnts but we have come a long way since then and there are now lasers that are safe for dark skin people and the diode laser is certainly one of them. I didn’t go with IPL cause there’s more chance of getting my skin burnt and even tho the cost is inferior to laser it also requires more sessions to get the same results so there’s not really a point there. I did my first laser session on February 21st. I did armpits, full bikini (except the back, the anus to be more specific), full legs and face. My second appointment was on the 21st March but I wasn’t able to make it due to severe period pain but I have rescheduled and I’ll be updating you guys soon. Now I’ll dig in into the experience itself. I found a local clinic with good reviews and decide to go for it I also did some extensive research on the process and what I should expect. When I got to my appointment I had to sign a form where all information about the procedure was and when I got to the room the technician was very kind and professional and explained everything about the laser and the procedure again, what I’d feel and what I should expect, what was weird and what was not. For the first session you are to go in wit your hair unshaved so they can see what they are working with and the colour of they hair and thickness. I undressed completely and she gave me towels to cover myself up. She started shaving me with a disposable razor from the face and we worked her way down. Then she marked me with a white pencil on the legs. After applying a gel she started “lasering” me and we saw the intensity I could take in each body part. We did low intensity on the face cause well it’s the face. I rather have that part take longer than get a burn cause I was go to high. After we were done a lotion was applied to hydrate the skin and I was told to keep it moisturised avoid the sun and the beach for about 2 weeks, I’m to only shave and not use any other form of hair removal the entire time. ONLY shave that is very important. After the first session I felt a tingling longer on my legs, like I had been to the gym. I showered with cold water and applied Bepanthol for burns in all places I had laser cause it’s highly hydrating and helps the skin recover faster (you guys it’s for burns! It helps healing!). It has now been over a month since then but I can honestly say I’m loving the results! LOVING it. The face I didn’t see any results yet but my armpit hair is ALMOST gone, my bikini hair is growing super super slowly and there’s already bold spots where hair didn’t grown again this entire month the same goes to the legs. I’m EXTREMELY happy with my results. I can’t believe I spent so much money on wax all these years when I could’ve done laser through a year spam and be semi permanently free of hair for a very very long time. Just so we are clear even with laser sometimes you have to go back twice a year for “maintenance” sessions but there is no comparison between that and getting waxed or shaved once month or 4 times a month for the later it’s just a crazy amount of time I don’t really have to waste. I’ll attach photos of my armpits and later my legs and my bikini. I don’t have before photos for reference I’m afraid. Excuse me for any typos but I won’t be going back to review this before posting.
