Effective, relatively inexpensive, some risks - good clearance overall

Effective, Relatively Inexpensive, Some Risks

WORTH IT
I have light skin and dark hair, and I've had good clearance overall. I had LHR over 10 years ago and then more recently have been getting sessions.
Results vary, but for me, the areas I treated over 10 years ago are still minimally hairy. I suspect that the technician wasn't as thorough with larger areas, like legs, which have more patchy spots compared to smaller areas like underarms which have some strays that I could pluck out in a couple minutes.

LHR is relatively inexpensive and tolerable without any numbing cream or pain meds. I had a bad experience many years ago where I got burned and had hyperpigmentation, but it did eventually heal (took over a year!).

LHR carries a risk of paradoxical hypertrichosis (more hair growth, especially for face/neck & more common with darker skin), but I haven't experienced that myself.

I think LHR is worth trying out if you are wanting to get rid of hair because it will save you time and money in the long run. These days, it's become very affordable.
However, if you don't mind spending thousands of dollars, electrolysis is an alternative without the burning & paradoxical hypertrichosis risks.
Personally, I do both electrolysis and LHR, but if I had a lot more disposable income, I'd only do electrolysis for peace of mind. (it is more expensive, painful, and slower than LHR, but it's permanent and more accurate)
