Laser Hair Removal BURNS on DARK SKIN
Hello to make this short if you are dark skin and you look for a NDYag Cutera cool glide or similar machine I don't think you will have any issue with laser hair removal. I have had literally 80 laser hair removal treatments with a Cutera cool glide and not one issue.
These burns on my chest and leg were done on a IPL machine in Toronto Canada and I think IPL is the most common type of machine in clinics because of their lower cost and ease of access to on used market.
When you get burnt like this nothing will make it fade except time. It took maybe 7 years before they started to really fade but after 17 years if you look at my leg in person you can see faint the streaks still there.
It is not worth it to go to any provider you need to educate yourself on what machine they are using and if it is safe for your skin type.
Before you go for such treatments make sure to ask for qualifications of the technician, ask who owns the machine, a clinic?, do they have insurance, is the technician borrowing a room in the clinic. Various questions to have information in case you get burnt and want to sue.
The most important part of any laser hair removal is do a TEST PATCH. Ask the technician to perform a test patch on the inside of leg or ankle or somewhere to see if it burns.
