Not Worth It Made my Skin Worse
I decided to get laser genesis at this high end medi spa not far from home. All I wanted was for my skin to look fresh and reverse any sun damage I might have accumulated over the years. The procedure in itself was okay. The heat of the laser was warm almost as if I had my skin right next to a heater. When I got out of the clinic my skin looked fine. It wasn’t until I got home that my checks started to flare up. They were bright red. It freaked my partner out. I was told that some redness was expected.
Over the next few days the redness was still there and I noticed my skin go really dry. Then orange like dry before peeling. I didn’t expect peeling because the esthetician hadn’t mention it. I started to get worried. I noticed the peeling patterns were circular as if following the same shape as the laser would have had.
After the peeling I noticed raised bumps along the surface of my skin where it would ofthen flare up and turn red. The texture isn’t the same and I have darker patches or skin where it had turned red.
It’s been 3 months since my treatment and the esthetician was surprised at my reaction claiming that ‘it couldn’t have been the laser’. I believe this is a standard line they all say when things go wrong. My skin never reacted this way before and the only thing that changed was getting that laser procedure done.
I’m annoyed and disappointed with what happened after just one procedure. Everyday I wake up wanting my skin to heal back to how it was. After three months I feel that I’m going to have to deal with all my life.
Has anybody had similar reactions and what have you done to treat the side effects?
