Not Worth It Made my Skin Worse

I decided to get laser genesis at this high end medi spa not far from home. All I wanted was for my skin to look fresh and reverse any sun damage I might have accumulated over the years. The procedure in itself was okay. The heat of the laser was warm almost as if I had my skin right next to a heater. When I got out of the clinic my skin looked fine. It wasn’t until I got home that my checks started to flare up. They were bright red. It freaked my partner out. I was told that some redness was expected.
Over the next few days the redness was still there and I noticed my skin go really dry. Then orange like dry before peeling. I didn’t expect peeling because the esthetician hadn’t mention it. I started to get worried. I noticed the peeling patterns were circular as if following the same shape as the laser would have had.
After the peeling I noticed raised bumps along the surface of my skin where it would ofthen flare up and turn red. The texture isn’t the same and I have darker patches or skin where it had turned red.
It’s been 3 months since my treatment and the esthetician was surprised at my reaction claiming that ‘it couldn’t have been the laser’. I believe this is a standard line they all say when things go wrong. My skin never reacted this way before and the only thing that changed was getting that laser procedure done.
I’m annoyed and disappointed with what happened after just one procedure. Everyday I wake up wanting my skin to heal back to how it was. After three months I feel that I’m going to have to deal with all my life.
Has anybody had similar reactions and what have you done to treat the side effects?

I'm sorry to hear about this. I had my entire face basically deformed to look nothing like what I looked before and I actually am being assumed to be 20 years older than I was before the treatment. As far as how I looked anyway. I basically will have to spend thousands of dollars in fillers to try to look anything like I did before and even that won't work because the damage was all over my entire face. You might want to try doing some glycolic peels. Possibly they can remove some of the damage and allow healthy skin to grow and its place. I have been doing them at home, following all the proper precautions and using a good product and have had no problems so far.
Hi Roxeal, I am so sorry. I am in a similar boat. How many treatments did you have and when did you feel like your face finally stopped changing? I am experiencing volume loss. It looks worse every day.
Hi...I recently had laser genesis to treat damage done by CO2 Smart skin laser. I now have orange peel textured skin which was never a problem before. My foundation sinks into the pores and it looks like I have tiny spots all over my face. Despite the recommendations of well respected dermatologists and plastic surgeons, both lasers have ruined my skin at a considerable financial and emotional cost.
what did I say thats unnaceptable ?
Exact same thing happened. I had this done 2 weeks ago and my skin is red and broken out EVERYWHERE. Did your skin ever return to "normal"??
