After living an insanely fit lifestyle started by softball in grade school and pushed to the limits thanks to the military, I am really missing the body I had three years ago. When I go pregnant with my first child in 2011, I gained 75 lbs and my son created quite the belly on me. It took me a year to start dropping the weight, having started at 170 lbs only to jump to 250 lbs by delivery. I dropped to 210 within a month of being postpartum, but stalled until after I stopped breastfeeding my baby and managed to get to 189 lbs before I was pregnant with our second baby who was planned. I gained far less (240 lbs at my worst), but only dropped to 205 postpartum and my daughter created just about as much round belly as my son did without the extra weight gain. Now, my diastasis is a huge issue. I've had two umbilical hernia repairs in my lifetime and it's been undone by the pregnancies. I'm going to have to tread carefully before having my desired tummy tuck so I don't have another hernia issue and have to postpone working out during that time since my last hernia after having my son was caused by working out too hard before I was healed and ready. I have had one consult thus far here in Las Vegas with Dr. Stile and I was content with his knowledge and explanation of what I should expect. I went ahead and requested a quote on getting a breast lift as well and thanks to a Mother's Day special he has for the month, I could get the TT, Breast lift and Flank Lipo for $12446 (all inclusive of extra charges). I have one other person I wanted to interview before I make my decision on what doctor I want to go with, so Dr. Hankins in Henderson is my next stop on the 29th of May. I'm really ready to have this surgery and get myself fixed up. My muscles are awful and I get frequent abdominal and back pains from lack of support, kind of like my intestines will fall out any moment, or it's all sitting at the bottom in my pelvis (dramatic, but it's what it feels like). Everyone thinks working out will do the trick, and I tried my hardest to even remotely fix the separation when I was in-between pregnancies, but I realized the more weight I lost, the more loose and wrinkled skin I had and the more noticeable my abdominal weakness became. I miss my "military fit" body, and I'm looking forward to getting it back. The recovery will suck and take time, I'm realistic that it may not be completely like it once was, but just to have the strength and flatness back will be sufficient for me!

I think you should go for it! I have 3 kids the last pregnancy being twins & my tummy was never going to be "normal" again. I had a "Mommy Makeover" 3 years ago this June & wouldn't take anything for it. (Tummy tuck w/ muscle repair, breast reduction, & liposuction where needed). It has been worth every bit of pain & discomfort I had to go through. I didn't gain a lot of weight but I wasn't a small person to start my pregnancy. PPW=220 gained 20lbs 1st time (but my tummy was HUGE) I had a 10lb baby. 2nd time PPW=210 gained 27lbs (no doubt w/twins my tummy was Gi-normous)! They weighed 12.5 together. My tummy was never the same again... The doctor agreed when I went in 10years later, no amount of weight loss (I was at 190lbs) or gym time would help my saggy tummy or breasts. I hated my body. I did it for me. I prepared my self as much as anyone could. I read everything I could find online, watched every blog I came across, ask my doc/nurses every question I could... just to be mentally/emotionally prepared. WHEW... nothing could've prepared me for the pain I was going to feel! OMG! I had a pain pump, & pain meds & muscle relaxers & who knows what else I had to take... I have never in my entire life hurt so bad!!! I couldn't move myself. BE prepared. I had help, my husband was more than supportive. My mom did everything she could. BUT I couldn't physically get myself from sitting to standing, on or off the bed, laying down or sitting up, couldn't even pull my legs up onto the bed. I didn't expect that kind of impact. I can handle pain very well. I'm no whimp... but holy cow! I come to realize after I could think for myself... it wasn't the incisions, they were numb (even now kinda) it was the lipo! the nerve damage it causes. I missed that warning. I felt like someone must have skinned me alive! my lipo was mostly on my sides, lower back, top of my bottom. I suppose what they cut away I didn't feel but what was sucked out was a different story, Be Prepared! YES, I would still do it again... I would just know now what I didn't know then. (What I fear most is the unknown.) I never had any other real issues other than my "dissolvable stitches" didn't really wanna dissolve. Some of them worked their way out; which opened the incisions & caused the scars to be slightly wider in those areas. Nothing worth noticing now or complaining about then. Scarring is minimal & nothing compared to the stretch marks I was sporting! Its very light & on the tummy its easily hidden inside my underwear or swimsuit. My only regret is not doing this sooner! Good luck to you! You won't regret it!

Thank you for sharing that! I'll definitely do what I can to prepare myself! I don't have much to compare lipo to, but now I know, just sheer pain. Haha! Hopefully, my experience may be different. I'm 5'6.5" and lots of muscle so 160-165 lbs is a good weight for me, and I've never been below 155 lbs without starving myself for a few weeks. I'm excited and ready. My back is my biggest pain. Everything lacks so much support that nerves are pinched by my spine and the muscles constantly ache, so with everything sitting forward and out of my belly, the muscles from thigh to hip in the front are pulled tight making it worse. Ready for this fix for sure! Over time after healing and rehab at the gym, I know I'll be so much better and better to knock out now rather than later. I'm feeling more and more of my intestines in between the separation so this morning I was kinda playing with them, rolling it around a little (gross I know, but hard not to do). :) I really appreciate your story, I look forward to seeing what happens for me after this next consult. Not sure if I'll get the procedure done now or in December since I'll need help with my two kiddos and my husband works odd shift with minimal days off in a year. Everything has to be timed just right. :)

Sounds like you're going to have the dream makeover! Thanks for sharing your experience.

Im not sure if you have already pain or not but I highly highly recommend Dr Michael Edwards. He changed my life. I went from a 24 year old woman who refused to take her top off during intimacy to a vivacious confident young woman who has way to many little black cocktail dresses.

picked not pain ( i think my brain is sending me subliminal messages from my recent surgery.)

Haha! I understood what you meant. :) And I had to put money down asap if I wanted to reserve the quote I was given, so I did. But thank you for the referral name! Wish I had could have been able to interview him before putting money I can't get back down, but it is done! Lol

Really? don't have to pay for my new one until my pre op tomorrow. SO are you just like so excited? I am so excited for you, it was the best thing I ever did for myself.

Well it was part of a Mother's Day Special, which is why I had to put money down and it's non-refundable, but that's O-K. I am very excited and my husband is too! Ready to have my confidence and physical strength back with the muscle repair. Should help my back problems too.

Ah I see. It should def help your back.

Well, wouldn't it be the luck to get extremely sick and dehydrated and hospitalized the day before I'm supposed to see the second PS for a consult. *sigh* Oh well, I ended up putting money down with Dr. Stile and have currently scheduled my sugary for Dec 8! But I'm really considering moving it forward to either September or November, but haven't completely decided yet. I'll be getting the Tummy Tuck, muscle repair, flank lipo since it's included for free, and a breast lift. I'm very excited! Only issue I have with the september date is that I'd have to quit breastfeeding now (I planned on stopping in September which would be the 6 month mark/ my milk dried at 6 months with my son last time), and I'm not ready to do that. I don't mind the November date, but it helps if my husband is on a day shift at work, and he won't be except for the September date. Decisions, decisions! But at least, regardless, it will be done! Haha

Moved Surgery Date Up

I have decided to move my surgery to September from the original December time frame. Can't wait! A little nervous, not one to spend so much money on myself, but I've been reassured it won't just benefit me, but my life which benefits my family. I'm ready to have my stomach muscles fixed. This is my key issue and I look forward to its resolution. :) I'm also about to work on losing some weight before hand, if not for better results then just to ensure I'm in the healthiest condition possible before the surgery to give my body a better healing chance. Hooray!
