Tummy tuck review: I have always been petite with...

WORTH IT
Tummy tuck review: I have always been petite with very nice abs/tiny waist. That is until I had children haha. My once perfect abdomen was covered in stretch marks from my ribs down and saggy saggy skin. I had an umbilical hernia and diastases recti (muscle separation) of 3-4 inches (severe). This muscle separation is what pushed me over the edge to consider plastic surgery, as I discovered that no amount of dieting or working out would ever get rid of my post pregnancy pouch. I also felt like my abs were in a weakened state that I just could not fix. I found this very frustrating as someone who has always been into health and fitness.
My sister is the one who told me about him. So I gave him a shot. Needless to say I liked him, and he's staff was very very helpful and nice. As the date came near I was very very nervous. I had seen too many before and after photos, some good, some bad. He met with me again to calm nerves and answer more questions. Mostly about the belly button. Because of my hernia it was not a normal/easy fix... and of course if you're going to go through something like this you want the best possible results. I also wanted realistic expectations. He delivered and then some. Here's what I expected and what I got:
- I expected to be in severe pain- it was totally totally doable. Much less then was stressing over
- I expected extreme swelling, or swelling that lasted a long time-that was also minimal and only for a short while
- I had like zero bruising
- he told me after the fact that he "lost sleep" over my belly button, which to me showed he cared. He also told me that he pretty much had to recreate a belly button and it took awhile. Could he have charged me for that? Yes. Did he? No. And while I couldn't tell immediately because of the swelling and such, my belly button is beautiful and exceeded expectations.
-my scars are flat and are fading nicely.
All in all I'm very happy that I did it. TOTALLY worth it, and this is someone who was not pro-plastic surgery before (just in case there's any on the fence) I now don't have to fuss over my clothes. I had this nagging feeling that I needs to loose weight... no, my tummy was just jacked from babies. Haha. My core strength is better, my posture is better, I don't have skin hanging over my 'low rise' undies or pants. And this is prob too much info but it has actually made me regular in the bathroom department. I don't know if it's from putting my guts back in their place or what but that was a very unexpected plus.
So in short (lol) go with doctor Richards. He's the best. And price!?! Can't beat it. Big thanks goes out to dr Richards and he's staff.

Did you have any EKG and blood work before surgery? And was there a deposit

No EKG but yes to blood work, and the deposit was given to hold your surgery date. If you decided to back out it was refunded. It think it was $200.

Awesome. How's the healing going? Did you get full or mini TT?

Thanks for your review! I could have been writing it, it fits my scenario exactly. I have a consultation with Dr. Richards coming up soon, so this is helpful knowing he can handle the umbilical hernia and diastasis recti. Best wishes to you!
