I did a lot of sports and physical activity when I was younger, and though I don't remember exactly the incident that caused my deviated septum, I know I was probably around 8-12 when it had happened. From the frontal view of my face, I liked the shape of my nose. In photos you couldn't tell that I had a dorsal hump unless it was profile view, and the curve of my deviated septum from the front was probably only noticeable if someone paid very close attention to detail. Regardless, it was a huge inconvenience for me, I hated my profile and felt self conscious about it throughout my teenage years. I knew I wasn't born with a crooked nose, which had started causing migraines for me when I was around 18 and limited breathing out of my right nostril. I started to consider surgery. With extensive research and preparation, I didn't actually go through with it until I was 21.

I had numerous consultations with surgeons before I chose Dr. Khorsandi. No surgeon had talked to me about my nose with such detail, and he showed a genuine interest in helping me correct my problem. He took images of my nose from numerous angles, and showed me on the computer what the outcome of the surgery would look most like. He was precise and professional, and talked about the nose being like the art of sculpting for him, which showed me he loved his profession and I had a really great feeling immediately during the initial consultation. He had answered any questions I had and didn't sugarcoat any aspect of the procedure or try to sway me in any particular direction. It was honest and thorough. Originally I wanted to have the consultation, go home and sleep on it for a few nights, evaluate different options and maybe see a couple more doctors. But I knew when I met him that I wanted Dr. Khorsandi to perform my rhinoplasty, so right after the consultation I made my appointment for the procedure. My medications for the surgery were delivered to my home, this was also a very convenient! His office is beautiful, his staff is prompt, professional, to the point, and will answer your questions before you even think of them. My whole experience with VIP Plastic Surgery couldn't have been better and I am so happy with the decision I made. My splint is being taken out tomorrow, but I look at my nostrils and already see that they are even! This is crazy to me, my right nostril was always significantly narrower than my left and now they are proportionate. I am so excited for the rest of the healing process and to go about my life with more confidence than I had before, and I owe all my thanks to Dr. Khorsandi and his staff.
