My lower face had literally crumbled into a tangle...
My lower face had literally crumbled into a tangle of wrinkles so I called my aesthetics nurse to discuss fillers. After a brief pause she asked "Have you considered a facelift?" Ouch! Actually I had, but honestly wasn't sure where to start. Fortunately, the nurse has 2 patients who have had facelifts with Dr. Lanfranchi and she told me that she sees a lot of facelifts in her practice, but she was so impressed by Dr. Lanfranchi's work that she had kept, his contact information.
Although it wasn't ideal to have to travel out of state for an extended period of time, the fact that Dr. Lanfranchi only does facial procedures and uses local, not general anesthesia, was an enormous plus for me. From the moment I contacted the office everyone made me feel so comfortable and welcome. My initial consult with Dr. Lanfranchi was via Skype. I really appreciated not only his honesty that although a lower facelift would be a huge improvement, I wouldn't be wrinkle free, but that at no time during, or after the consult, was there any pressure put on me to book my procedure or to up-sell me on other procedures
From the get-go, A.J.was my go to person, setting up the Skype call with the doctor, showing me around the facility, via Skype and answering my endless email questions thoroughly and with grace and humor.
I did my due diligence and every review for Dr. Lanfranchi and his staff is stellar. I booked an Airbnb 5 minutes drive from the facility in Henderson NV (hosted by Andrew) which was perfect for the stay and way more comfortable/convenient than a hotel. (Tip. You have to sleep on your back with head elevated so 2nd bedroom is a plus for your support person if you snore in your drugged state!)
The day before the procedure my husband and I flew into town, and went to the office for final consult, to sign paperwork etc. Dr. Lanfranchi and his team have thought of everything, all the pre and post op information is very thorough. A.J. even called in the majority of prescriptions to my local pharmacy so I would only have to pick up pain medicine locally. The team is so customer service oriented that Dee Dee, the receptionist/office Coordinator called the day before my consult to confirm my appointment and wish me Bon Voyage.
The day of the procedure I was pretty "relaxed" on valium so was hardly aware of the multiple pokes of local anaesthetic and the only discomfort during the entire operation was my neck getting a little stiff from being turned sideways. Back at the apartment I took a vicodin and chilled/slept. Other than day 1, I needed very little pain medication and was very comfortable just taking extra strength Tylenol. Eating is definitely a challenge as you can barely open your mouth. I used a baby spoon for several days and mainly ate scrambled eggs and drank (easier than using a spoon) soup. You can't clean or floss your teeth, so mouthwash is a necessity. I saw Dr. Lanfranchi on day 2, 4 and 7 when first set of stitches were removed. Because I didn't want to stay in town for 2 weeks, second set of stitches were dissolvable. The whole process and recovery has been so much easier, less uncomfortable and faster than I thought it would be. I was careful to follow instructions, started taking arnica 1 week before the facelift and 10 days after. 2 weeks post procedure, other than still having some slight skin discoloration, I'm pretty much back to normal, scars from first set of stitches are invisible. I changed the parting and styling of my hair and everyone keeps telling me how young my new "do" makes me look! I'm thrilled not only with the results, but the fact that I made the right choice with the awesome Lanfranchi team. Amazing surgeon and VERY classy outfit! Thank you all!
