I have spent the last couple of months, viewing, dreaming thus - coping, (at times stalking) boobies, tummys, nipples, arms whether saggy, wiggly and then magically gone!
And yes I'll admit it, every little inch of me I have been reviewing through the eyes of the RealSelf page.
May I add, I now have hope where only stretch marks, sagging and yep, unexplained grannyhood sounds of rubbing thighs has long taken over.
But cart before horse so I back up just a bit...
We came to Israel for his work and I have 6 months off due to it.
One night we were out on the beach, and as I freely gawked and the worlds most breathtakingly gorgeous women I've ever laid eyes on. I casually tossed out, "Man, what I wouldn't give to bounce instead of swing like that again."
He turned and said, "You've got the time hanging out here so why not?" Okay so at first I was; "Yeah right" but when I glanced at him and he just shrugged that's when I thought...'Hmm, what would hurt if I just looked at maybe not tucking my boobs into my jeans anymore?'
And this is where things started too get interesting.
When I first got started I looked for PS here in Israel. I figured since I have no one demanding of my time or efforts, (after all these years, four kids and now 4 grandkids, he knows I shouldn't cook) I thought 'Why not look' turned into levels of "Oh holy cow! Look at what I could get done!" to "Umm, nope, that's gonna hurt way too much." and everything between.
I had browsed, and clicked and somehow in the middle of my numerous roaming's I landed on RealSelf. Nope no idea how, so no breadcrumbs for anyone else to follow.
Long pro-log short, after many attempts at finding a PS here in Israel, even going to one who actually spoke fluent (although with a rather sexy accent) English and was very nice. Reading so many reviews, intently viewing before and after pictures, looking for a credited surgeon, let alone speak English, I just couldn't get over the part that is anything was to go sideways it would be another $3,000 flight just to get back here.
I had a ton of questions and the very top one was; 'Are you a American Board Certified Plastic Surgeon?' which surprisingly some are, who knew?!
Leaving no stone un-turned I continued to research because like I mentioned, I'm bored, (yep still) stuck here for 6 months, and at some point would either say 'forget it' and toss in the 2 piece bathing suit (which I haven't worn in 25 years) or keep going.
So between the reviews I read here and the doctors names I have found, along with a (brazillian?) butt load of questions I ,got my emails in order and sent them off. Oh holy moly, hang on to your password cause you'd think I struck the 'high profile' gold. Within a day (Israel is 10 hours ahead of US) I received so many emails that I had to start all over reviewing doctors.
I'm not saying Israel doesn't have great PS I'm just saying I wanted one I could fly or see if I needed to in the future plus....I like certifications.
The only problem is, I'M IN ISRAEL FOR 6 MONTHS!
And that's when I have time to spend on laying around. Sooo Israel has this visitor rule, you can't stay in their country more than 90 days without leaving for a day. Guess where we can go for the required 24 hours. Boyah! the U S of A!
I found my Plastic Surgeon! His office and I communicated by email and I had the chance to have a long phone conversation while visiting Petra, in Jordan. Yep that one. It blows my (thigh tuck, someday?) skirt up to know we can communicate from one side of the planet to the other in real time.
I already have a "Supply list" due to the ladies on this feed and I will attach it soon for anyone who may think of additional items I should get. I have my daughter aware that the old lady who wiped her booty as a baby may need it in return when I stay with her in November and me and my hubby's tickets to Vegas bought.
I'll keep posting as I go, not sure what yet but, do it all the same.

Good eye. I'm going to have to find out why there is ILS after the price. It should be in US currency. The only thing I can think of is that I'm posting from Israel..?

Hey we have all been the before, the after takes work. Months from now do side by side before after photos.compare yourself to like aged women similar sized. We all work with different things for scar treatment. My c g was from surgeon, 1 piece not include bust, and just covered little over butt, but hacked shorter. What about trying spanx garments 2 piece, some like long tank top, and bike type long shorts. Again I think we’ve all tried lots. Remember early days

Why do you post nasty comments on women’s reviews? You posted another rude comment telling another woman she looked ridiculous. What purpose do your hurtful comments serve? Absolutely rude and unnecessary! Think before you post please. We’re here to support each other, not tear each other down.

Getting my ducks all in a row, then bringing them in the tub with me

User Avatar

Although I am in a time zone 10 hours ahead, every email I have sent to my doctors (Dr. Richards) office has been answered thoroughly the very next day! Loving the warm and genuinely kind staff who let me bluster on and on then happily refocus me in the right direction.

It is incredibly reassuring to know that I am not alone (minus the hubster) while trying to figure out the next step in this process. Whoever thought up RealSelf has got a big thumbs up from me.

I must admit that I am not a patient person so this waiting for all my ducks to get in a row is brutal. So far, so great…except for the waiting…that part isn’t cool.

As I mentioned before, I have been working on a: TO DO/BUY/ORDER LIST in preparation for the big day and for those that follow (ouch).
Please feel free to add anything you can think up as well. (Apparently I can't just drag and drop the file so...old school maybe?)

You are SUPER prepared! Make sure you walk, no matter how uncomfortable you feel. . you have to get the blood flowing and the muscles working! You don't want to feel tight for long. I'm actually surprised your PS isn't doing lipo with your tummy tuck. Was there a reason? Keep us posted!

I'm planning on walking to the toilet and back without help by day 3 (with the walker maybe?) but I truly have no clue what that means. I have a feeling since we'll be in Vegas during football season I may find my 'care person' has disappeared. Thank you for telling me about walking, that will be a huge relief! The doctor said he will do some lipo but none on the flanks. Feels it messes up (maybe from it puckering the skin or?) the incision sight and may contribute to infection. We haven't talked in detail with regards to it but I plan on getting in touch with him as we get closer to the surgery date and it's one of my questions. I believe the blood flow (in the drain ports) is weighed and watched for color correct? The darker the blood the farther along the healing? I may not understand this part very well.

I ask because your body looks very similar to mine and i got it all done with no problem. I was walking to the bathroom by myself by day 1 (I did have a raised toilet seat). I hope you get everything you want... remember, YOU'RE the customer and the customer is always right! Keep us updated!

That is exactly what I was wondering about the most-the toilet seat issue! That would eliminate the walker and free me up to do more.
To know I'll be moving on my own within the first day would be a huge relief! I have an issue with not staying still very well, hence all the stuff to do list.

I love this forum because of your type of posts.
Keep them coming!!

*I have a good use of medical "Wedge" pillow. 10" easy to rest on & 8"- easier to use for sleep, helps with swelling and comfort. I sure put soft pillows on it.
*Variety of pillows, sizes and hardness - long narrow one(s) as a booster for under knees support, some small soft ones under back or arms. Back gets tired!!!
*Some very soft and large pads from pharmacy - to put under garment along incisions.
* Audiobooks for first week. Some easy to listen novels, and post surgery pain management audio.
Good Luck!

I also used pharmacy large extra soft pads along compression garment edges.

I am going to be flying back to the states late tonight and shopping over the next couple of days for last minute items that I didn't have shipped. Can you tell me what are the "...large extra soft pads..." do you mean gauze pads?

I felt since it was the hubster who was to be my care person I better have the game plan: To have it and not need it verses; need it and not have it. You ever send your hubby to the store for Pineapple tea and have him come back with Pomegranate tea saying “Well it’s a fruit so what’s the difference?”
User Avatar

that is some list! All my requirement fit on a post it. Ok, maybe 3.
