Big arms tend to run in my family. Mine have always bothered me. Im only 5' and petite. I usually needed to buy a shirt one size bigger because the sleeves would be tight on my arms. So finally one day I took the plunge and decided to book my lipo! After a few consultations I decided to go with Myshape Lipo here in Las Vegas. Ok so heres my experience for smart lipo on my upper arms and back bra roll....
When I first arrived i was drawn all over and given a zanex to help relax. Ask for 2, trust me! After about 20 minutes to let it kick in the doctor came back to make the holes where the cannula would be injected. He used a shot to numb the area first. Ok now for the absolute worst part :( When he inserts the cannula for the first time to insert the numbing fluid. OMG It was awful! I felt everything. I literally tried to run the assistant had to hold me down ( I later apologized). Ok so after that was over, I was left alone in a nice lightly dimmed room with some r&b music per my request to let the numbing fluid do its job. It was a rather strange puffy feeling but I did not mind it after what I had just experienced. A short while later, I'm guessing 15-20 minutes he came back to start the lipo. Now I was really scared because of how painful the first part was but I was assured that the worst was over. At this point my whole upper body was numb and my zanex decided to work. I felt none of the actual liposuction part. Wait I take that back....When he got close to underneath my armpit I had felt some pain but he said that happens quite a bit. He added some more numbing fluid and that helped. It was a little bit messy at times but i guess thats to be expected with all the fluid that was injected. And the numbing fluid is a deep reddish brown color so at first it looked like blood but it wasn't. After we were finished i was washed up and put into a compression garment and ready to go!
Ok so I did bruise some over the next couple days. But it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. I used arnica and drank ginger and turmeric tea and it seemed to help quite a bit. I even stopped taking my pain meds after 2 days. Now about a week or two after my arms were very weird feeling. Hard to even descried. I couldn't lift my arms over my head for almost a month. And I started getting hard lumps all over. The doc said it was normal and to massage. So I did that. After about 5 weeks the lumps went away and I started to feel normal again. I do have Italian skin and tend to scar easily so the two marks on my back turned a bit dark in color. Sucks because I tended to them so well! Lots of vitamin E oil and scar cream but it happened anyways. Overall I am 100% satisfied with my experience and my results. Im looking forward to doing my midsection next!
