Hi, I am thinking of getting the Sleeve as my October didn't recommend the band. I have about 60 lbs to lose. Can you let me know your thoughts? You don't regret doing the surgery? Etc.?
You look great! Very healthy and you look very happy!

Health improving, already...

I don't often step on the scale at home, so I don't know if I have lost any more since I was at my follow up appointment on the 15th. However, I have already noticed a few positive changes.
1. My blood pressure has already improved.
2. The pain, numbness and tingling from my carpal tunnel syndrome has significantly decreased. It's not completely gone, but my hands feel so much better.

I went back to work today (I teach high school English) and I had plenty of energy. The best part was that my students were happy to see me.

Congrats
Thanks!
Hope you are doing well, same happen to me with my lap band in 2009, it sucks doing another surgery but I think we both will do great this time cause we know ... It was so the same with me, good food came up and junk stayed down...I'm glad you are feeling better already I can't wait!!!
Thanks!
Congratulations and thanks for the update. I hope to get my sleeve in December or January and am nervous and excited!

I am so glad you got this taken care of. Take pictures and keep updating us!!
Thank you, and I wish you the best with your surgery. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them, to the best of my knowledge.
Yes please! Tell me about how you manage the clothes when you have no idea how much you will lose?

Did you buy smaller pull on pants that were super cheap? Did you buy smaller packs of underwear in several sizes??

I haven't seen anyone talk about the way to manage the clothes issue!
When I got the lapband in 2009, I think I just bought smaller clothes as I needed them--I didn't lose that fast. I mainly hit the clearance racks or even thrift shops.
This time, I have a different plan. I bought a dress form over the summer and I dusted off my sewing machine to brush up on my sewing skills. The dress form makes it easier to alter clothes and I found tons of tutorials on Pinterest on how to alter and upcycle clothing. I hope to get a little more mileage out of my current wardrobe by making alterations. I know it's not feasible for everyone, but I have a crafty side.
I like your idea about buying smaller packages of underwear.
It's such a different feeling the lap band versus the sleeve. I was sleeved October 10 and I'm trying to get used to it. I actually feel like I'm eating more than I ate when I had the lap band but I know I'm not. I am hungry and last night I had something whole instead of mushy foods and I paid for it! I will go back to my mushy food diet for now and be more careful. This is a learning curve you can actually gain weight by eating too much of Jell-O sugar-free pudding and protein shakes Etc. this weekend I'm going to start having puréed cott cheese scrambled eggs and see what happens. Good luck to you sounds like you're doing well .

One Week Follow Up

I went to the doctor for my one week follow up. My recovery is going well. I'm down 15 pounds since September 28, 2015. I think I lost a few pounds pre-op and the surgery was on the October 7th. I didn't think to weigh myself the day of surgery. My doctor showed me pictures of my lapband. My liver had started wrapping itself around it and he had to chip away at my liver to get the lapband out. I saw a picture of my sleeved stomach. It looked like something from the meat department of the grocery store.

Hello congratulations. I also 10/8 had my lap band removed and I was sleeved. My doc said I had so much scar tissue he almost didn't sleeve me. Only issue I have is that I can drink fluids easily. So many people on this site say they can't. I really don't have trouble. I've lost 7 lbs since the surgery but I'm worried he didn't take much of my stomach. I don't get a full feeling but I am not hungry either. Keep us posted how you're doing
Thanks. I drink liquids easy, too. I'm glad I can because I get bad headaches if I get dehydrated. I don't get the full feeling either, but I do get a little hungry. I figure my stomach us adjusting still. I hope we both have great success with our journeys!
Thank you for replying. It's nice to hear from someone who had a band removed and is sleeved. It's a different feeling. Good luck to you too ☺️
