I originally saw Dr. Richards for a Juvederm injection into my smile lines. I was amazed at the difference so while I was there, I asked him about getting rid of the festoons lining my cheekbones that I have always hated. He suggested doing my lower eyelids as well which I also agreed. During the surgery Dr. Richards commented that he could no longer see the festoons so he suggested we wait on that and just finish up the eyes and see how it looks. The first week of healing was rough, but then I could start to see the results coming through and I was more than pleased, and the festoons were still barely even noticeable. It's been about 3 weeks now and what a difference! I work for a doctor myself and he said the work Dr. Richards did was excellent and may even have the procedure done himself. Dr. Richards is not only a great surgeon, but he is personable and very easy to talk to. He even emailed me the day after surgery and asked how I was doing and if I had any questions.

I am still very happy with the results. It looks completely natural. No one has ever been able to guess that I had lower eyelid surgery. I work for a doctor who even commented on the excellent job done by Dr. Bryson Richards.

Hey Gaylee! I also have festoons and I am desperately looking for a doctor who can improve them, and reviews like yours are very inspirational seeing as there are very few before/after photographs or success stories on these being treated.
I'd really love to hear more about your case in particular, I sent you a PM if you feel more comfortable talking there.
I am mostly wondering what type of festoons you had - whether they were hereditary (always present, but worsening with age) or something you developed through aging.
I am only 25, but I've always had terrible malar bags/festoons, and they're only getting worse. I've tried fillers but it was a disaster, making it much worse.

Thank you for sharing! So, you had just upper eyelids done? Or upper and lower both?
