***Beware if you have sensitive skin!***
***My face took 10 days to heal enough for me to leave my home from this procedure
***I wasn’t told not to do the peel before a sunny Vaca
***I was in intense pain from cracking dry skin for 5 days. I was told this was normal for some people
***Because my face was so painful, they gave me hydrocortisone and now my face is breaking out from lathering it all over my face for days.

After a brief intro to the cosmetologist from my dermatologist, I was informed that my freckles had taken over my face. I personally never thought my skin looked "bad", but she pointed out my darkened skin tone and I decided to go ahead and do this "very light" skin peel.

I came in on a Monday because my boyfriend was going out of town for business and I new I could shed without him seeing. I was told I would be back to looking normal within 5 days, so I knew I would look fine by Friday night. The procedure itself was painless.

The 1st and 2nd night you are to wipe your face with towelettes. That is when the real pain starts. I couldn’t sleep for the first night, I had to get up and take Benadryl just to fall asleep.

I started shedding by the 3rd morning. The shedding itself wasn’t painful at all. The new skin seemed soft and looked amazing. Although it was very painful to apply the Post peel lotion.

The most painful days were the 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th. During these days, my skin looked like dandruff and it was incredibly sensitive. It hurt to smile and eat. It cracked around my lips and I looked and felt sick. My body ached like it does when you have an intense sun burn. I did not leave the house and when my boyfriend got home he freaked out because I looked so horrible. It was extremely painful to put on the post peel crème, so I went back to the Dr. on the 4th day. I was given a medical grade hydrocortisone and told to apply that with my post peel lotion.

The 8th and 9th days were also very dry and my skin started getting small pimples from the lotion. The 8th day I put raw Almond butter on my lips and skin to try and get the cracking to stop. This was the first thing that helped and the redness started to stop.

It is now the 10th day and my skin is still pretty dry. I have a vacation in the Dominican Republic to pack for. I wish my cosmetologist had told me I shouldn’t get this done right before my vacation. I told her I was going to be heading on one.

Overall, I don’t feel that the after photos are drastically different. I wouldn’t consider the results worth the intense pain and sickness I felt. I will not be doing this procedure again. I would not recommend this peel to anyone with fair sensitive skin; I feel that the heeling time was drastically misinformed. I followed the directions word for word and I stayed inside for 10 days.

I paid $200 for the peel and then $50 for the Plus.

The Doctor at Summerlin Dermatology is very helpful and professional. He suggested a chemical peel which was done by a cosmetologist in his office. The cosmetologist there was also very friendly and professional but I feel that I may have been misinformed about the VI Peel I did. She told me over and over again that the procedure would heal within a few days and she had never seen any bad results. I was in intense pain for 10 days and unable to leave my home from this facial peel I received. It made me feel physically sick, like I had really bad sunburn. When I told the staff at the cosmetology office, I was questioned on if I had followed the directions (which I did) and my face was still raw and painful. Overall, the cosmetologist was professional and polite. I wouldn’t go back because I feel she wasn’t informed on the possible side effects and misrepresented the product. I honestly don’t think I should have been sold the upsell to the Plus. I believe I may have had a better result and less side effects with the regular $200 peel.
