* I should have done these posts as the time was going by- but with almost two year old twins- I just always said- I'll start tomorrow and we'll here I am. I will do these in a number of posts by weeks. But to start off..
It's been almost two months and I feel amazing! I look amazing and I am so happy- actually happy doesn't even cut it- I am ecstatic with my results! Even more excited that they will only continue to improve with time! I am actually starting to work out again this week! Now for the stuff toy really want to know!
First off, Dr. Richards and ALL of his staff from my first step in the door for my counsultation to my most resent follow up- has been phenomenal. Almost never a wait time- the ladies at the front desk are always very attentive and very helpful! Dr. Richards and his nurses make you feel extremely comfortable in the exam room! I initially had two consultations- Both were highly recommended and had great results in before and after pictures- my main concern with the belly button. I didn't want to look like a creepy alien outtie! But after both appointments, I knew Dr. Richards was the one for me. I just instantly felt comfortable and knew he understood over all the results I was looking to achieve.

Twin Pregnancy- My ULTIMATE body destroyer
July 2013, we found out we were expecting not only one baby, but two! We were shocked to say the least, but eventually it grew on us! Hey, I only ever wanted two children, and could I be lucky enough to only endure pregnancy once?!.. Later I would find that lucky- was not the word I would choose.
Although there were two little people making themselves comfortable and sucking the life out of me, I felt great- almost too great the first 4-5 months. I was working out- lifting eating healthy and gaining minimal weight! I was thinking- WOW this is going to be a breeze.
Long story short- it wasn't easy, around 5 months I started to gain weight at an insane rate- no lifestyle changes. I was still eating healthy and at this point working out 3-4 times a week. Along with the weight- I almost lost all energy- I went from normal-very active to I don't want to get out of bed. That's when I went in for my glucose test and sure enough- I failed- I failed it so much, that they didn't even suggest that I take the 3 hour test. Instead, it was straight to the dietitian and a new life of needles and diet plans.
The hardest part for me was the eating habits- I have always ate healthy- and I thought that the way I understood how diet worked was the answer to everything. But, not in this case. I was counting carbs- too many and my body went into overdrive- too little and I threw it out of wack so far that the next time I had any carbs my body completely went off the deep end. For those of you who are familiar with gestational diabetes- you know that you are literally required to stay in a very limited range with your numbers. I believe mine were 85-90 fasting, and no higher than 120. Since my body was not used to consuming carbs period- along with hormones, insulin levels and everything else going on- I gained 90 LBS! Yes, 90! I have always been very body conscious, always making sure that I keep myself in line. So, hormones or not, this weight gain felt like my life was over. (a bit dramatic I know, but at the time- it's all I could think of)
February 7th, I was scheduled for a C-Section, my kiddos decided they enjoyed occupying Mommma's body and didn't want to come out on their own. I was blessed to carry them full term. Born at 39 weeks, 6lb 11oz and 6lbs 14 oz, and both 19.5 inches long. No complications- No NICU time.

Welcome! I am a twin mom and also had gestational diabetes, and also went to term, and so I understand where you're coming from. How long ago did you have your mommy makeover surgery, and how has your post-op recovery been?

Hello fellow twin momma! I had my Surgery November 16th, I am 5 days away from 2 months! I feel amazing, honestly, the recovery wasn't too bad. I was expecting much worse. I went back to work full time (desk job) 2 weeks post op, I was still hobbling around, but nothing that kept me immobile. The first week was the WORST, but I made it with the help of my mom, I stayed with her while my kids stayed with my husband. That first week away from home was absolutely necessary, I knew I had to be away or I would push myself- when really you need that week to rest- your body needs it! I will be posting my pre op and post op reviews soon. Also, my progress pictures post op! :)
