Last January I had my first mammogram. Everything looks great! The capsule looks appropriate. No leakage. No signs for concern. You do need a bit of a more in-depth mammogram but my insurance paid for it without problems because I’m over 40. Under 40 you may need to self pay.

Things I wish I would have known. If you are super strong. Like benching over 200lbs strong. You will lose your top lifts forever. I was consistently bench pressing 205 before surgery. I have never been able to bench over 185 since. Flat bench is still very uncomfortable over 155. I feel like something is going to rip even 8 years later. So that has definitely been a bummer for me, I really used to have a lot of pride in my bench. And competing in powerlifting is now in my past. I do everything in some sort or incline these days. Also if you have very developed pecs, your implants may not fully drop. Not a terrible problem. I’m 43 and after 8 years I have no stretching of my skin and no drop in my breasts. My muscles just hold them tightly. I’m still very happy with the size I chose. And the outcome of my surgery. Since I have felt more feminine and sexy. Again I went from no breast tissue AA to a DDD.
I have full sensation and feeling in my breasts as well. It took probably 3-4 years to regain full feeling. Funny things. When I fly. I can hear my implants creak and make noise from the change of pressure after!

Thank you, I'm super happy with Dr. Richards work!

Good luck with your recovery. Let me know how your workouts go when you start wokring out. Did he do sutures so they don't displace when you work your chest? You look great, and yes, it hurts! You're not a wuss :)

No sutures that I know about. But I know he was super careful with my pocket, so when they do move, they move the same. My Powerlifting days are pretty much finished. I separated my pelvis giving birth to my daughter. I DB inclined 70's one last time in October, and benched 205 for old time sakes. And pretty much said goodbye to super heavy weights on my chest. If I can DB incline 50's by summer I will be happy. I really have no need other than my ego to put up much more. The women's "body building" category is going away, I'm looking to be 125-130 maybe lighter on stage. Time to trim down the bulk. Makes me a little sad, but we all have to move on eventually.

DB incline 50's is great! I know, we all need to move on at one point... Just stay healthy, it's all that matters!

So glad the pain is worth it! You're looking good!

I know you're feeling like you should be done with the pain medication but I have heard some women find it helpful to take a muscle relaxer for just one or two nights. This seems to do the trick for many women.

I would love it if you would comment on this forum for body builders and fitness buffs when you are feeling up to it. Congratulations and thanks for your continued updates!

Looks great! Where was your incision? .... nipple? crease? How's the scaring look? I'm thinking about going to Dr. Richards but am hell bent on nipple incision.

I had a fold incision. My experience with Dr. Richards has been nothing but exceptional!

Am I a Wuss?

Thaiboxgirl79
Ok for the past 2 days it's been rough. Everything that was numb, has woken up. Other than being able to sit up on my own, I feel like I'm back to day 3 or 4. No I'm not taking any pain pills or OTC meds. But at two weeks, I feel like I shouldn't need them. Yes, I'm stubborn.

But on the good side. My incisions look great. I love the size I chose. No regrets. I don't wish I went bigger. I can still wear all my clothes. My body is exactly proportioned. My hips and bust are exactly the same. They are dropping naturally, no band. I just go without a bra much as possible.

If the pain would stop. I'd be a happy girl. I wanted to start walking and doing light cardio today, but it's a no go. My PS says if I'm in pain I'm doing to much. Ugh. I can't sit for more than 3 min at a time. I stay home with a four year old. Ok, trying to slow down.

One thing I forgot to mention early is the bloating. I was insanely bloated for 10 days. At one point gaining 16 lbs. about 3.5 is the implants. I looked 8 months pregnant. Thank God I fit into my pants again. I was about to go crazy.

I'll post pics tomorrow. I'm just hurting too much to do it today.

Thanks for your Support!

I've been feeling the same way at 18 days now- wondering am I just being a total wimpy weakling about the pain? Grrr! So thanks for sharing... I swear I felt way better last week than I have the last couple of days. I kinda feel like I've gone backwards a little bit. But I've probably been overdoing it as I've started to feel better. My husband keeps telling me to simmer down and take it easy-reminding me of what a major surgery I've just been through. And my PS said the same thing- if it hurts don't do it. But it's very frustrating at 2.5 weeks to still feel so limited when I'm used to being so active! Uggghh... Patience self... Patience. But thanks for validating that I'm not just being a big ol' "boob" about the return of more pain. Ya, the nerves must be healing because everything feels so hypersensitive right now- my sternum/ribs, incision line, nips, backache... But I know it will pass. I'm grateful for this forum and to know I'm not alone and it will just keep getting better. Best of luck on your continued recovery!!

I'm at exactly a month and for the most part feeling good. Still a little sore from my skin stretching. But the worst is def past. I was right with you almost regretting getting them, but now I'm happy I did. Will post pictures later!! Good luck, hang in there. And yes slow down. If your hurting read or watch tv. It stinks, but it does help after a couple of days!!

Your boobs look great since your last pic update. How are you feeling? Are you back in the gym? I started back on Monday but I only did Cardio, the stair master. I'm a bit depressed because I look and feel my body and all my muscles are gone. I go in the gym and I see all the guys lifting and I used to be right over there with them and now im stuck on just a stair master. I want my girls to heal so I'm not going to push it.

I started back Monday. Light weights. But nothing on my chest. Not pushing myself. I felt good, just weak.
