WORTH IT
I had been suffering for years with headaches and back pain. My size H breast were sagging so much they were near my mid stomach area at only 35. I had burns on my shoulders from my bra straps rubbing when I would go running. So I decided to see if I qualified for a medically necessary reduction. They handled all my insurance issues and it was approved after surgery without any problems.

I'm very happy with my results. I have been issue free for the most part. Only issues so far is that my incisions are sensitive and sometimes sting. Also my left nipple and sides of my breast hasn't regained feeling yet but I'm hopeful. As a darker skinned person I was already aware that my scars maybe dark. From the front the vertical incisions is fading very well. I have been using silicone gel although I'm pretty sure it was healing fine on its own. My doctor actually did not recommend anything because I was healing fine. I just wanted to see if it would help. I love my new breast even if my left nipple never has feeling again. I can go without a bra for the first time since I was 14. I have to remind myself to wear a bra. I'm still wearing bras without underwire because the incisions are so painful. My chest is so perky that the bras aren't even holding them. My doctor didn't require me to wear surgical bras 24/7. About 2 weeks after surgery he recommended sports bras, tops with shelf bras ect.,. I'm back to running and enjoy not being self conscious of my flopping breast. When I sleep, My breast don't end up under my husband. He actually loves the new look of them. I think he's a little nervous to touch them but in due time. Random info: My doctor used glue to close up my sutures. When I went to my first bra fitting I was very emotional, I cried. It's really something not to many mention. I can't explain it. I was also sad to see how big my stomach was now that my breast were not hiding it. I've recently loss 10lbs since and haven't experienced any changes in size. I'm hoping to lose 20lbs to be back to my prepregnancy weight. Hoping my breast don't change but I couldn't get this weight off before surgery for some reason.

Thanks so much! I'm actually flying to El Paso this weekend to visit my son who goes to school and plays football at UTEP so I'll be close to the Las Cruces neighborhood! I went to the NMSU game last year and it was so exciting! Take care

Insurance

Just wanted to add I have Fepblue insurance. I had only gone to see a doctor 2xs beforehand. I did this to start a medical history of my issues. Although in 2006 I had been approved for a reduction through another insurance, I was just a 36Fed at that time. I waited to have another child, which took 7yrs. So that I could breastfeed which I did for 2years. My breast never returned to my prepregnancy size. A month before surgery I got nervous about the insurance paying. They would only say that it was covered if it wasn't an overnight stay then it would be seen as any other surgery. I didn't believe it So I went to a chiropractor twice a week for a month. It didn't really stop my pain but I wanted to show I was seeking other treatments before surgery. Anyway, the insurance paid for everything except my copays. Also I had to pay 30% of anesthesia and supplies. I think in total it was just $900. ($200 hospital, $200 Dr. Sutphin, $40 precheck in testing, $430 anesthesia and my first 2 Dr visits to Dr. Sutphin.)
Welcome to the community. Wow what a nice change in size for you. I am so happy for you and glad to hear that everything went so well.
