WORTH IT
I recently got liposuction of the neck and bra line. These are two areas that no matter how much I worked out and lost weight I could never get rid of. Of course.. I had always thought of going to a plastic surgeon but assumed it would be too expensive and I would be too shy to be able to talk about the things that I've been so embarrassed by my entire life. During my consultation, Dr. Whetstone made me feel comfortable and relieved in knowing that these are not easy fixes and are often just a mix of bad genetics. He took his time in explaining what kind of outcome he could reach for me and how he would obtain it. I appreciated his honesty throughout the way. Lanie in my pre-op appointment explained everything I needed to know and do after my surgery to make sure that my results lasted. She was able to answer every question and even give me a range of the pain level. Everything that she had explained happened to the T after surgery. There were NO surprises. The pain level (minimal) was exactly what she told me to expect. Everyone was extremely welcoming and didn't make me feel uncomfortable in the slightest. On the day of my surgery, my first nurse Patsy (?) had a smile that could light up an entire room. I was excited that she was assigned to be my nurse. I got caught up in my IV right before we went to the surgical room and I feel any other nurse might have been a little frustrated but she stayed just as sweet while trying to help me out (even though it was completely my fault). Also, I appreciated that the team took my concerns about previous anesthesia problems seriously. I got to speak with my anesthesiologist before my surgery to voice my concerns and he even helped to distract me from getting my IV. For some reason, my veins love to hide when I'm trying to get my blood drawn/ get an IV so I get a little nauseous when they get poking around. My nurse noticed this and started singing a kids rhyme to me.. I'm not too old nor too proud to say that this did not make me feel 10 times better. All together, my entire experience has been fantastic and if I ever hear of anyone looking for some discrete aesthetic improvements I would be more than happy to refer Dr. Whetstone. I didn't expect to have so much one on one time with him. He stopped by before surgery to mark me and wish me well and then stopped by before I left to wish me a fast recovery and tell me how well everything went. Even after day 1 through all the swelling I could see such a difference in my neck line. Though I don't have a "before" picture, I have posted an after so that you have some kind of idea. Before, my chin basically slid down into my neck.. now I have actual definition after my chin before my neck starts and this is just day 2 WITH swelling! I can't wait to see months down the road what the final product will look like.

Was there a lot of bruising? If so, how long did it last? Did you have to wear a garment after? If so, for how long? I'm thinking of having chin lipo. Just have some questions. Thanks!

Minimal bruising! The picture above was 2 days later and was the max of the bruising. Lasted about a week. I wore a garnet 24 hours for a week and then right after work for another week. Neck was the easiest part. Barely felt a thing. You should do it!

This is a very distinct change and looks great!!
This is exactly my neck. It might be my next plastic surgery endeavor.

You should! I thought about it for years but thought it would cost an arm and a leg. Recovery time was only a week and minimal pain at that. I'm still pretty swollen so they say I probably won't see the final product until march/may but I'm already happy with the outcome!

Well that is exciting bc you look great now even with the swelling.
Both of my parents have the genetic turkey neck, and I'm only in my thirties but I already see it beginning. It's so frustrating when I work so hard to stay healthy but still look very big in my face. Uugh.
Did you have an actual incision or was it like laser lipo? And I was wondering what the cost was around. $2000? $5000? I just have no idea. If you're not comfortable with that question, I understand.

Yes! Mine was generic too. I'm in my 20s so I wanted to nip that in the bud very quick. I had an actual incision. Very small. I had a freckle/small mole in the center under my chin and the incision was hidden there. They say the more you massage it the less it will show. Personally even right now when the incision is new I'm not too worried that people will notice it. I paid $3000 for the chin area. Very inexpensive if you ask me. Compared to a life of looking at it every day in disgust? Totally worth it!

What excellent results!! This is huge motivation for me to do the same and get my second chin taken care of. I have worried over what I would require for the extra fat beneath my chin and how face surgery might alter my looks thinking I would probably have to get a partial face lift. After seeing your lipo results I think it could very well be an option for me. You look amazing, congrats!!! ;)

Yes maam. I thought with all that extra skin he might say I need a face lift too but that was not the case. Seeing as I'm in my 20s he assured me my skin would naturally tighten up, especially with the lipo method he used. . And it sure did!
Thanks for starting a review and for posting the pic! Definitely keep us posted on the rest of your healing and what you think of your final results.
