I'm doing it because there are things even exercise will not fix. This, of course, may be a more accurate statement if I exercised, planned on at least driving by a gym or had the intention of ever enrolling in a gym. Since I don't & I never will, I have chosen to do this. I have hired a private nurse to take care of me for the first 2 days immediately following the procedure since I don't have immediate family living in this country with me (or anywhere for that matter). The purpose of her involvement is also to care for these awful drains I keep hearing about... Any advice or questions on my experience so far with my Doc, gmail me at tfriar -- I promise to update you on my actual surgery soon.
Thanks for sharing your story. The nurse sounds like a good idea. You might find this post from our community forum helpful: Top 10 Tips For Before and After Your Mommy Makeover.
Not that I don't have family anywhere! Sorry for confusion. Most importantly, I chose to disclose my close-family situation so other foreigners like myself don't get discouraged to go on with surgery. Even if my close relatives lived here, the idea of a nurse helps me remain a bit more calm.
