End of Week 2
leahnicole086March 3, 2015
$4,500
I am at the end of week two for my invisalign. I have anxiety thinking about chaning my tray on Thursday and tryign to time it just right. I changed my work schedule to accomodate this change! Ugh!
I am clenching and grinding my teeth A LOT! I keep wondering if its because the trays feel loser and more gel-like rather than stiff and hard. I find myself doing it all night in my sleep and sitting at my desk typing away at work! It is irratating bc I have TMJ to begin with and it is making it worse.
Decided to call and ask ortho if I could change tray early, i was getting impatient, they said no, if anythign, ONE day early. I said Ill just wait. I keep reading reviews that YOUR TEETH CAN FALL OUT!
So ill be waitign until this Thursday March 5, 2015!

Week One Done.
leahnicole086February 28, 2015
I am officially done with week one. I wanted to write abotu the thinsg I noticed.
The invisalign diet is still active! I have noticably lost weight and my jeans are to big.. I must partially blame it on having MONO though this past week. But, either way, I hate taking out the trays to eat. it is such a process. Then you have to brush, clean tray, and put 'em back in. I'm not lazy by any means and I always carried a toothbrush regardless but itsa mixture of that and my teeth hurting. But MUCH lESS than the first 3 days which were almost unbearbale.
My trays are looser too. And I do not notice them much. Except for the lisp. I am going to call orthodontist today to see if I can switch tray today before the week begins and I have work Monday. I'll have to update what happens. But I think I am definitly ready to switch trays.

Day Three.
leahnicole086February 21, 2015
I am on day 3 but only at 48 hours.
I hate my lisp. It is annoying but it is getting better. One exception. My tongue is so swollen. its prob 2-3xs the size it was 3 days ago before I started. My teeth feel fine in the trays. There is discomfort and pain but its better and more manageable in the trays. When I take them out, it hurts. It feels like I have broken, brittle and weak teeth. I could not bite into an apple, for instance, I would probably cry. My bottom tray, on the inside of mouth, is what is causing my tongie to hurt, get ulcers on it and get swollen. The ridge is rough and when I talk my tongue rubs aginst it.
I reallly havent eaten much at all. Day One: Water (all day) and soud. Day two: Soup, mashed potatoes and a banana. Then I went out for a bday party at a bar, had a few alcoholic clear drinks w invisaalign in. I drank from a straw so it went in back of mouth. I think they fear is will discolor so I went w colorless drink. I was fine. I drank and swished water in between.
I was also writing back in comments that I seen ppl write kiss your love life goodbye. Then get yourself a better man bc that is not the case at all. The guy Im dating doesnt even notice, it doesnt bother him or I and in fact, I am NOT thinking about invisalign when I am kissing him. LOL
I also have been clenching my jaw. Have you been doing this? Just hard getting use to the plastic in my mouth I guess.
Also, at first I was obsessed with 'suck the air' out of retainer, which, in turn, made my tongue hurt and thats prob the reason why it is so swollen. I havent done that at all today though, no urge. LOL.

I would suggest filing down the rough edge of your tray or getting some wax to rub on it (I've heard that can be messy). I filed mine and found that it helpeda lot. I also had the clenching problem. It seems to be worst the first few days of a new tray. I've found that if I concentrate on not clenching, it gets better naturally. I also had a real problem with the lisp. It is now 6 weeks in and is just now almost gone. Hang in there, and it will get better. Again like you, I sucked on my retainers really bad when I first got them, lol. I've found that once you've had the tray in a few days, it gets better. Thanks for sharing and I hope this helps somehow.

Great, I'm so happy to know Im normal! (Or are we? ) LOL. That def helps me, I'm really concentrating on pronounciationand not clenching jaw. I'm not sucking air anymore. And been using numbing stuff on my tongue, i will try to file these down bc is painful. And it feels like they are looser now, so the bottom tray seems to come out slighter on edge near tongue,so i keep scratching. Ugh!
