I have been researching Smart Lipo on Real Self for years and never felt like I saw women in my same situation, so I felt that I needed to write this review. I am 5'9", large boned with a 30-31 BMI and have always carried my weight pretty well. I have had two children and never quite recovered from the second. I developed a tummy and love handles that were never problem areas before, and put on extra weight in my hips and thighs. I exercise and eat a fairly balanced diet but the fat pockets would not budge from my body. After reading and researching I scheduled a few consultations in my area.
I went to the most popular place in town first. When I called they said it would be a $50 refundable deposit to meet with a consultant or $200 non-refundable to meet with a doctor. Since I was in the beginning stages of research I opted for the consultant. She said they could do my 7 areas in one session and outlined a pricing matrix based on who would do the surgery. They had a new doctor in the practice and were offering a special. She would be the least expensive per area if I booked within a few days. They also tacked on $400 per area due to my high BMI.
Next I went and met with Dr Erella at Aspira Plastic Surgery. He met with me personally with no deposit and was very detailed in explaining the procedure and discussing the areas I was most concerned with. Note- turns out areas may be called different things by different doctors! He spent a good amount of time with me discussing Smart Lipo pros and cons and/or whether I should be looking at a tummy tuck instead.
I went home and did research on both places. I determined that the doctor at my first consult would a Dermatologist. Dr Erella is board Certified in General and Plastic Surgery. It was a very easy decision for me to schedule with Dr Erella. If I have learned anything from my research it is not I always have a board certified plastic surgeon!
I scheduled for 2/13/17 and had my pre-op Friday 2/10. The doctor took pictures, wrote my scripts and again spent considerable time with me answering questions and concerns. I told him I had a business trip scheduled the week of 2/20 and was concerned about how I would feel. He asked what kind of meetings I would be in etc and when I explained my itinerary he decided that I would not be at my best for my work commitment and rescheduled for 2/27. We decided on 8 areas at my pre-op in two separate procedures.
Upper and lower abs
Flanks
Hips
Upper and lower bra roll
Inner and outer thighs
I asked my doctor to do the areas in the order that made the most sense for him. On 2/27 I had my upper and lower bra rolls, hips and flanks. I went back on Wednesday 3/8 and had my upper and lower abs and inner and outer thighs done.

The pain from phase 1 which was my bra rolls, flanks and hips was a much more painful recovery than I anticipated.

Nice! I love your results!! Did you have to take any time off work after the procedure? Did you notice any weight loss on the scale from the lipo?

Thank you :-) I did take a few days off after each phase when I was on painkillers. I have not had much change on the scale. I gained after each procedure and I am now back at my pre-op weight. My clothes fit so much better and I actually have a waist again.
