My mouth was making me sick. Physically sick. I opted for having 25 teeth/roots removed, bone augmentation and 14 implants done including 2 zygomatics. Temporary teeth screwed in the same day.

The first week or so was rough. It entails soft foods until the permanents are screwed in. This is a long process. Mine took 6 1/2 months.

Care is more involved. A water flosser twice a day along with an electric toothbrush and mouth rinse is required. It takes vigilance and commitment.

Now tat I can eat anything, I have taken a liking to fried chicken. Something I was never fond of. Strange. I enjoy salads, sushi, a sandwich and just about anything crunchy. It is liberating.

My teeth are beautiful and has changed the structure of my face. I am very happy with my result.

I you are just starting his process, remember, it's a process and one that will pay off in time. Take extra care in picking out your permanents. Look at thousands of photos online. Don't rush this part. If there is something you do not like when the wax try ons are made, make changes. You get one chance to do it right! Glad I did!!

Thanks for sharing your story. Your smile looks great! How long did it take you to pick out your permanents?

April 27, 2015
I looked at online photos for about 3 weeks. I literally went through thousands. When I found the ones I liked, I printed them out. I hung them in my bedroom. There where 3. I narrowed it down to 1 in a few days. Took it to my dentist and they made a wax try in. They were perfect on the first shot. It took about 3 weeks for fabrication. I have been back a few times for a bite adjustment. They are really good now. I have an appointment next week to make sure ll is well as I suspect it is, then most likely every 6 months for a cleaning.

Well done that lady. The photo says it all, especially with that big lovely "Smile" to charm the guys. Hope to be delivering the same sort of service here in the UK with our new company.

What a beautiful smile! My mouth has made me very sick for a long time as well. I am just starting the implant research and am curious as to how you found your doctor, how you chose your type of implants and probably ten other questions I will think of in the next ten minutes. :)

Wendy, I am more than happy to answer your questions. I researched for over a year. I knew I wanted the best. My permanent implants are zirconium porcelian, (spelling). I did not want to have the teeth extracted, bone augmentation and implants done in one office then shipped off to a restorative dentist. I am an anxiety sufferer and that would have been too stressful. Where I went, they did it all in one place, in one day. It's what they specialize in. I had many appointments at different places and NONE did it all in one place. It was impossible for me to be shifted from one office to another. I arrived at 7am., and was leaving with my permanent temporary's at 3pm. The temps., are made of acrylic and I had them in for 6 months. I have my permanents now exactly how I wanted them to look. People from all over the country and overseas go there. I found them from extensive research and talking to some of their patients. The actual implants were chosen by the doctor. I have 14. 8 uppers, 6 lowers including 2 zigomatic implants that go in the cheekbone. One price no mater how many implants they use the day of surgery. So, I have a combination of different implants. They did what was best for me. Everyone is unique and everyone has different needs. They know this and plan out the best possible outcome for each individual. Please feel free to message me anytime and I can answer any and all questions you have. Although I am in the same state as my surgeon, it is a 2 1/2 hour drive 1 way that I happily make. My recommendation is extremely high. I would not have gone any where else.

Can I ask how much? I've been researching for about 3 years and I think I will go to New Teeth Now if I can afford it.

Good for you!!! Do dental implants feel strange...when you chew?
May 30, 2015
Yes in the beginning. You get used to them. I went right from my natural teeth or what was left of them to implants. I imagine if you have dentures already and then have implants, there would be less of an adjustment period.

Just over a year update

orchidlover
Here is my update. I am just over a year from my surgery (6 months from my permanents being installed. Wow has life changed. I just had a check up/cleaning 2 days ago. Everything is well. I do not have pain and have the freedom to go out to dinner and order anything I want. I have taken a liking to fried chicken and corn on the cob. Two things that have been off limits for many years. I'm just loving my smile and am more confident than ever! I welcome your questions!

They look good! Will they always stay nice and white or do you have to periodically whiten them like regular teeth.
August 15, 2015
They will always stay white. I have periodic cleanings just like natural teeth but no whitening.

It is surgery. I had it done on a Thursday. I had pain that was managed with pain killers. By Sunday, my daughter took me to get my nails done! A couple of days of down time is surely worth a lifetime of eating what I want, smiling all the time and really enjoying life. How did you afford dental implants? Did you have dental insurance? If so, what insurance company did you have?
September 16, 2019
How long did you have to go with temporary ? Any bone grafting? Time length for the perm?
