I am scheduled for my tummy tuck with hernia...

Earthquakegirl
I am scheduled for my tummy tuck with hernia repair and liposuction of my flanks in a week and a half. I had 2 large babies via csection and continue to look pregnant regardless of how much I work out or diet. I am 5'1" and 148 lbs. My youngest son is only 15 months so my biggest fear is not being able to care for him. My oldest son is 3 1/2. I will have help for the first week from my mom and I'll be off of work for 2 weeks. The kids attend daycare. I would love to hear from mom's who have young kids - how did you cope?? Best of luck to all the ladies here! I'm super excited but very nervous!!!

I just had full tummy tuck after having twins at 41 who are now 17 months old. I also have a 17 year old and 14 year but both are very involved in after school sports so they haven't been much help. I have a great hubby who owns his own business so he has tried to only work 3 days a week since my surgery and my mother law has been here 5 days a week while my mom comes and cooks for the week and helps on weekends. I went to my 2 week check up today and here is what my advice is; if you can get more help, do so, you will need it, if u can take another week off I highly suggest it. I am 5'4 and weighted 138 when I had TT so I didn't think it was going to be a hard recovery but it really is. I had a c-section with the twins and this has been 10times harder on my body. Your body needs more sleep and nutrition to heal. Please please if you can ask for more time off and help!!! Best of luck!!

By the way, the twins of course are missing me holding and doing for them but this last week I do let them crawl in the recliner (one at a time of course) and read to them, talk to them or just lay and watch their favorite sprout (baby channel show). I miss holding them and loving on them terribly and they are starting to really be bothered by less mommy time but when u can, just try to maybe do the things I suggested. It seems to be helping.

Thanks for the feedback...my mom is coming to help for a week and they are in day care as well. I have the flexibility to take more time if needed. It makes me sad to not be able to love on the kids!! I appreciate your insight! :)
