Labiaplasty Revision/reconstruction. Beautiful Result, I Couldn't Be Happier. Angelica Saved Me!

To give some context, I came to Angelica extremely unhappy with the outcome of the labiaplasty I had with another Dr in London a year ago (for which you can find the whole review/ healing/pictures in my profile if you want to read). Before coming to Angelica, the whole journey was very mentally and physically exhausting. I felt depressed, extremely self-conscious (even more so than before the surgery), and felt like there was no hope of fixing the scarred monstrosity that turned out to be my labia! I’m beyond grateful to Angelica (and the ladies at Aveling House) for what they’ve done for me. I never thought after my nightmare experience that my labia would look how it does now! I hoped for the best, but I am more than delighted with the outcome. It’s been 4 months in total since I’ve had the initial revision. I'm still in the process of healing completely as this was done in two parts because of all the things that needed to be corrected.

I’ve uploaded photos to show what I came to Angelica with and how it looked before through to how it looks now. Sadly, my old Dr thought this was a good outcome (when I heard this, alarm bells started to ring) he offered to revise it for free, however, after discussing it, it didn’t sound like he could fix it. His suggestion was simply “cut things off” and “do a small wedge” so I didn’t have any confidence in his skill/ability to fix all the scarring, gaps, unevenness that I was left with. And I definitely didn’t want any more cut off. Dr’s here in the Q&A section say that you only have one chance really to fix your labia if it goes wrong the first time, so I wanted to make sure that I found someone who is skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable enough to do it, even if it meant having to pay, again!

I chose Angelica to do my reconstruction/revision because of her reputation in the industry, years of experience, and clear skill in performing the surgery. I looked at the photos on Realself, which looked incredible and achieved a great aesthetic outcome with minimal scarring if any at all. I read reviews and that people mentioned she has a very light touch and uses multiple techniques if necessary to achieve the desired outcome. After doing my research and having a consultation in person (before Covid) I decided to go ahead with the procedure. I feel that, aside from her very evident experience, skill and knowledge, Angelica has a natural talent for achieving a beautiful aesthetic outcome which women want. After looking at numerous Dr's I felt she was the most skilled person to do this.

Angelica is very patient, understanding, and caring. She will tell you what’s possible and what’s not and is honest. She always saw me when I needed a follow-up visit, and when I had any questions to ask, she was there for me and answered them. The ladies at Aveling House were always reachable and have an out of hours operation number in case you need to contact them. I’ve always felt I was in honest and reliable hands.

Because of the lack of attention to detail during the first surgery and wrong suturing technique, multiple things needed to be addressed, including unevenness, A LOT of scarring/scalloping from previously too tight/wrong caliber sutures, and sagginess. I also had a split in the middle of one labia, which just made me depressed looking at it because it looked very unnatural. Pee would run out of the gap and down my leg when going to the toilet. It was extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing. When I questioned my previous Dr, he told me there must be something wrong with my anatomy for this to happen and I should see a gyno, which obviously is not the case since I never had these issues before. It was simply because the labia were stitched unevenly and too tightly, the first time around so the labia was essentially “cut” in half, creating this gap.

Angelica used different techniques, sutures, and glue to remove the scalloping/scarring, to tighten the labia, cut off excess tissue that created the unevenness and sagginess, and closed the gap so my right labia looks like one rather than 2 pieces. The results speaks for itself!

The first time I had the surgery cost was quite a deciding factor in the decision for me, and I thought surely most Dr’s can achieve the same thing. I was wrong. They absolutely cannot. Many Dr’s are able to perform labiaplasty these days but it doesn’t mean they should!! I really wish I did more research on this before. It’s not a simple cut it off and sew it up procedure. Some Dr’s are simply not skilled enough to perform the procedure to a good enough standard and one which achieves a good aesthetic result (and since it’s a pretty private place, why wouldn’t you want that after paying thousands for the procedure!) This is not to say the price is the only factor in deciding a surgeon to choose, there are other factors like experience, skill, natural ability, are they up to date with the latest techniques/technologies to perform the procedure well, do they have the tools to do that? Have you seen before and after pictures that align with the outcome you want? Look at the evidence of photos not just written reviews. You wouldn’t choose a bag without looking at it, and this is your vagina!

I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I feel confident and relieved and so happy that I trusted my own decision to go and get the revision done elsewhere. I’m forever grateful for what Angelica has done for me! I will post some more photos after I heal more to show any changes. I hope my review helps anyone else who is going through a similar situation to make an informed decision. I couldn't recommend Angelica enough!
