Excellent Results! Highly Recommend Dr. Reed!
I’m a 34-year-old female who underwent a labiaplasty via a trim technique and clitoral hood reduction with Dr. Reed who is a Board-Certified OB/GYN and a trained Cosmetic Gynecologist.
My inner labia were protruding and enlarged and the outer labia practically nonexistent, so there was very minimal coverage of the labia minora. This caused excessive sensitivity that was constantly bothering me. I’ve completed hours of research on RealSelf and one of my fears was excessive reduction/amputation of the labia and another fear was scalloped edges with the trim technique. I’ve come across some “after” photos on RealSelf of trim labiaplasties that produced a scalloped look at the suture lines and since I was looking for the most natural result, I was initially set on the wedge technique.
When I went for a consultation with Dr. Reed, I found out that he only uses the trim technique nowadays (although he is experienced with both). Dr. Reed listened attentively to all of my concerns and went over pros and cons for trim vs wedge technique. We went over before and after photos of his work where he showed that the trim technique under his completion does not produce scalloped edges. And based on the previous patients’ results, I felt comfortable proceeding with the trim technique labiaplasty. Dr. Reed thoroughly explained what to expect during the surgery and recovery process and provided a printed copy of the detailed instructions for before and after surgery. Dr. Reed even provided his direct phone number in case there were any urgent concerns post-surgery. The office staff was very friendly and professional and always easy to reach (call, email, or text). They were also flexible and accommodating with scheduling (in-person or zoom).
The surgery itself went smooth and uncomplicated. I felt very comfortable and well taken care of. They provided the post-surgery care packet with everything I needed for recovery. There was great focus on reducing the swelling during and post-surgery, which helped with recovery and also the appearance of the suture lines. I thoroughly followed the post-op instructions and recovery went as expected without any complications. Dr. Reed personally checked in on me via a phone call the day after surgery. I am about 3 months after surgery now and completely satisfied with the result of the surgery; it exceeded my expectations! The labia is ticked in, suture lines are smooth, the result looks natural, there is sensation and normal function of the labia.
Dr. Reed does masters-level work when it comes to the labiaplasty using the trim technique. His technique of suturing produces smooth and natural appearing edges. Because he is an OB/GYN, he understands the important function of the labia minora and is careful to not take off too much if that is what the patient is asking for. He used a “feathering” or “airbrushing” technique on the upper part of the labia to create a smooth transition from the clitoral hood to the rest of the labia minora.
I highly recommend Dr. Reed and his team to anyone considering a labiaplasty/clitoral hood reduction. He is very passionate about this field of work and uses the most current and up-to date practices. The reviews on his website are accurate, Dr. Reed is professional, kind, and welcoming. And so are all of the clinic staff. Clinic spaces are clean with a modern aesthetic. I had a wonderful experience from start to finish.
